Congratulations on the score, you obviously threw the ball GREAT. What happened in the 264 game, an 8 count split?
I know some of these guys are for real, but 862? It isn't the talent/skill I'm questioning, just don't see how some scores are SO HIGH while others are SO LOW. I know there are talents, and I know there are hacks, but NOBODY shoots 862 without SOME forgiveness in conditions.
The shot is supposed to be tough and reward those who make quality shots repeatedly. No human on EARTH could make enough quality shots to shoot 862 on a tough, demanding conditon.
Didn't Ron Vokes just set the record for highest series ever at 857 this tournament, and now its broken IN THE SAME YEAR?

Record was 858, still slightly comical anyway.

My bad. O.K. then, 858 was the record for all time, and this year we have an 857 AND an 862?
Good thing technology didn't have anything to do with it.............

Are you kidding me? Bo just shot the series of his life at nationals with a ball that he had never rolled. You guys actually have something negative to say about it? Give me a break.
Congrats Bo. Next round of golf is on you!
-
Oh how I hope this doesn't turn into anything close to the Ron Vokes thread...
Congrats Bo.

No, didn't intend that. Maybe I should have asked the question elsewhere. Like I said, Bo OBVIOUSLY threw the ball GREAT and I congratulate him on the score. I can only dream of doing something like that. If it was easy, everybody would do it.
What I questioned was the technology, not BO, nor Ron. They both threw well enough to shoot great scores on what they had with what they had.
If you guys think it was inappropriate, I apologize. Just airing a thought I had inconjunction with some of the scores being posted this year.

I will be the first to admit I was shocked and upset about hearing the scores that Ron shot. I said congrats to him and do think that is an unbelievable accomplishment, but that was for the 2300. 857 is a number that has come close to achieving. 858 being the old record now. Just think he shot 862 and didn't even get to 2200, just shows you how crazy 2300 is!!
Bo shot 299,299,and 264. The 264 he had an open in the 2nd frame, I don't know what he left. All I know is it was 62. I was told he pured the shots in the 9th, 10th, and 11th to get there. Remember he did just bowl tour trials and bowled 45 games on 5 incredibly stupid patterns. His time and release were dead on coming into this. As he did finish in 9th at Tour Trials!

The more you bowl on hard conditions, the better you bowl on the somewhat easier stuff. Just goes to show you what talent, and harder lane conditions does for bowlers. Now if we could some how convince the bowling world of this, we might be able to save this sport.
As much as i would like to see this happen...it won't.
-
It's technology that has made the problem of too many FIGJAMs that they can't give credit for real talent when it's there. Bo apparently bowled the set of his life and got a good cross.
Some of you just aren't very good....it's unfortunate that Nationals brings that out in you year after year. It does not however mean that someone else had "technology" on their side.

KWBOWLING817,
I have a quick couple of questions for you. How old are you? What era was bowling ever so difficult it took massive amounts of practice to master these tough conditions that you think we need to bowl on now, to improve. If it was back in the wood bowling ball era then maybe yes. Since then, I don't know when it would be. I've bowled from the 60s to the present and there's always been guys who don't practice, bowl once a week and could score. What era are you harkening back to?
-
Congrats Bo!
32 of a possible 36 strikes is amazing.
2 questions.
1. What squad was he bowling on?
2. What is up with the 12th ball each game? He can't strike on the 12th ball? Does he have a complex or something? Guess he isn't a finisher!...lol
And that #2 was joke before anyone starts.

I sure hope he did not miss target or break point by 1/32 of a board.
-
Awesome bowling Bo.That score is awesome on the wall of china, but on this tough lane condition that is totally awesome.I dont care about technology or lane conditions that takes some talent to put up those numbers.Way to go bo hopefuuly it enough to take that eagle home.

I am pretty sure from that video you can see he threw all but maybe 2 shots GREAT!! The fill ball excluded. The big 4 and then the first 1 in the 10th got right of that range finder down lane. All the other shots were pured and hit pretty damn close to the same spot every time!

Good call captain obvious. I was making fun of the jerk offs that nit picked about what Vokes was wearing during the tourny.
-
