Ok here's my take. The showcase lanes do not play anything like the tournament lanes. It actually screwed me up a lot the first day. I needed to add surface to both my soul and war eagle to get a good look on the showcase. But then when I went out to a really bowl the surface was too much and I struggled with the ball finishing. Of course I got myself so confused the first two games it was crazy. Went 171-164. Then figured out what really happening and switched to my nomad at 4000 and shot 200(535)and had a much better look. Definitly do not need as much surface as years past. I wish I would have left my war eagle at 4000, that would have been the ticket. The back ends played real tight but the shot was playable with the eight equipment and surface.
Now today in Dbls and singles, surface again was a no no. I started with the war eagle at 4000 and it was a lot of ball and strike/split for me in double. 192-142-196. Game two I missed continually right and it was max penalty every miss(529). But in singles I went baxk to the nomad moved left played 26-10 and had a great shot. Game 1 shot 196 opening the 10th. Game two threw front 7 the bucket spare. Shot 275. Game three 198 opened 9 and 10th both missing inside at the 12 board and leaving splits. Could have shot huge but 669 won me 300 in brackets.
So 1733 with me making at leastm 10 real bad shots and not having the proper surface. I think I would have shot much better if I didn't let what I saw on the showcase lanes change my original set up and game plan.
I will say I spoke with Matt McNeil for about 10 mins and he was a real nice kid
