UPS - using the same scales as the ABC's?
« on: June 21, 2005, 12:00:53 AM »
I found this interesting....I just dropped off my 3-ball KR bag with 3 15lb balls in it.  The clerk put it straight into a box(no stuffing or packing material) and threw it on the scale.  It was then I was told that my package weighed 65 pounds.  My math aint 2 well and stuff, but if I'm correct, that would make the combination of my otherwise empty bag and cardboard box weigh approximately 20 lbs.  When I began to question it, I realized it was just some 19 year old kid doing his job, and I wasn't about to give him a hard time about his scale.
This made me wonder.  Could the ABC's and UPS be in cahoots, or could they possibly buy their weigh scales from the same manufacturer?  This UPS employee obviously wasn't trained by the same organization that trains the people working the ABC's equipment check in.  I came to this conclusion because never once did he try to explain the 10 lbs in excess weight as a result from oil soaking into my cover stock, combined with the 2 pieces of white tape in each thumbhole.

O,

Just pony up the extra dough! My gosh, you make more money than most of us will ever see; you'd think spending a few extra bucks on shipping wouldn't bother you that much!

On a serious note, good luck out there. I think you'll do well. Everyone is reporting that the shot plays really deep. I know that you don't have my revs, but I think you'll be able to get one of your ultra high load particle balls to roll up and hit, if you throw at your normal, 12 mph ball speed. In any case let me know how you guys do.

Gene,
Thanks for the advice and the well wishes.  Looking at your signature, I'm glad to see the cream and the clear have been working out for you.  If you ever need help passing a urine test, I just want to let you know I'm here for you buddy!

O,

I appreciate the offer, but I don't need that kind of service. I was told that the stuff that I'm using is just flax-seed oil, so I won't have to worry about that. kind of test  In any event, if I did have to take one I'd simply purchase that Whizzinator product that I've heard so much about. That thing sounds like the shiz. Thanks anyhow.
