I have actually kicked the idea around with a couple proprietors locally to see what it would take to build something like the Stadium. The Novi Convention Center recently went under due to a more modern facility built nearby and would be a perfect place to set up such a venue. They could lock in the city tournament, state tournament, and nationals on some kind of rotation and be mostly a tournament facility. Fill in with leagues and parties and open up to some of the very innovative ideas in the industry (entertainment) for additional revenue.  It is a very nice area and lots to do locally as well as quite a few nearby hotels. Add in 3 very nice casinos downtown (25-30 min drive) and it seems to me it could/would do well.

Unfortunately not too many people looking to build more lanes in Metro Detroit. We have too many centers as is and quite a few are going under in current economic troubles.

Oh well, would love to have the cash to do it....it would be a gold mine I think.

I am surprised that cities like Detroit, Chicago, cleveland dont bid on this event, with the state of Detroit as a whole, I would think an event bringing in 60000 people would be a boon for their economy, and with Downtown Detroit having 4 casinos, I am sure there is enough space to do one
