I think this gets asked every year,
I am a power tweener, More up the back of the ball so i don't get huge change of direction.
I have a choice of 4 balls to take with me.
Motive Ascent Pearl Pin under
Original Blue Warlock Rico
Track 706A Pin over ring
Mutant Cell Pin over in between fingers
C-system 3.5 Pin over just to the right of ring
Seems like every year i face the same thing. Balls that burn early, If i do get something through the heads it has no pop on the back end. I start to muscle the ball and then everything goes down hill.
The only ball that every really worked in my hands at Nationals was an Ebonite Angular One. I shot 686 in singles and 1800+ all events.
I bowl March 11th and 12th. SO i have a month to get ready.

4 Angular Ones.
-
Maybe you should wait until the patterns are released to decide on three of them. But one of them should be plastic.
-
Thank you for the advice milo, I don't need plastic. I can throw the most aggressive ball dead straight. Best part of my game is my spare game.
My downfall at the open has been carry and splits.
And i wish i still had that angular one.
-
You can always get one there, the booth guys know what works.
i dont know your specs, but something that is symmetric and rolly, a little surface.
typically pin in finger or pin down to start and maybe a pin up ball when the shot gets burned up - for me that is
-
My pap is 4.5 over 1/2 down. i do not know axis or tilt. Never checked it or tried to figure it out.
375 RPM, 16.5-17 MPH
Everybody i bowl with says i am a cranker but i don't get the big change of direction crankers get. I get in trouble when i have to move in because i am more up the back of the ball.
-
If you don't get a big change in direction I will assume you don't have much tilt. But as others have said I would wait until the pattern is released before I make any ball choices this year.
-
Pattern is released on the 27th or so.. I would probably wait to decide :)

Thanks for the opinions. I think i am going to take 3.
Probably take my C-System 3.5, Blue Warlock and My 706A. And buy something down there. Maybe the Hy-road. I have never had a storm ball.
-
All right, so now seeing the patterns i think i am going to take 3 balls with me, and ask Mike Jasnau for a suggestion and buy one down there.
I am going to take my
1) Visionary Blue Warlock it is drilled Rico- Surface @ 2000
2) Bruns. C-system 3.5 pin over ring- Surface @ 4000
3) Track 706A pin over ring- Box
My blue warlock is my all time favorite ball. It is a very even rolling ball
C-system for when the warlock starts leaving weak 10's, it is stronger off the spot than the warlock is.
706 for Minors, always take a pearl with me.
Hope i am looking at things right. I can always change the surface down there. And if Mike thinks i am missing something i have the open spot in the bag.
-
Think i am going to look at the Zero Gravity.
-
I have had 2 weeks on the team pattern for our league and practice afterwards
im LH, 375ish, 16 mph downlane at the camera and a higher track.
I just drilled the new Columbia Disorder.
i put the pin in the middle finger hole and left it OBB, ball is very rolly and predictable
also continuous through the pins. did not over-react at all
IMO, i should have balled down and stayed where i was at, moving in was so-so
balled down in practice afterwards to my pin down disruption (2000 + polish) and my pin down Arson low flare(2000 dull)
one other lefty on my side and we tried to burn up 8-9 board and move in slightly to use the friction we created
I like to keep my angles straighter up front and keep the ball motion longer and predictable down the lane

I am planning on taking a Brunswick Mastermind (pin up between the fingers), Track 811C/T with the same layout and a plastic spare ball. Figure the. Mastermind for team and the 811 for d/s.
The Mastermind is on finish and the 811 is 4k with polish. Probably knock the polish off the 811 if needed..
