Typical sport pattern-miss left = high, miss right = OB unless you carve them properly.
No noticeable impact of Ice. Could be due to stadium surface.
Team-break them down by going straight up 7-9 early on, and then migrate left throughout. Doing this creates free hook from 6-8. Failure to do so = ugly-OB right of 10 range finder and no hold and bad angles inside of it.
Spares-resin can be used for corners provided you don't really try to hit the ball. Be wary of 3-6-10, 3-10, etc. It's very easy to give away the front pin. Avoid a steep angles cross-lane. Double-wood is tricky as always. Suggest moving in and keeping the ball in the oil up the gut with a straight trajectory. Be precise. It's easy to leave it short and hook it past.
Minors-try to work together up 5-7 early, but don't be afraid to start bumping in quickly. Transition comes fast. As time goes on you'll want to continue moving in and targeting that 10-board range finder at the break. If you've broken them down well, you may be able to be a few boards outside and still get it back. Definitely a multiple-angles pattern. Straighter guys can hang further outside, come up the back, and maintain shallow angles. High-rev players can get in and wheel, but you have to get around the side to get continuation and carry corners. Carry is very good if you play them correctly. Light mixers are very common. If you're playing them incorrectly, carry is very tough-weeble pins (wobble but don't fall)
Can't stress enough the importance of trying to break them down together. If you have 6-10 guys doing their own thing and attempting what works in your house-shot league, the shot will seem almost unplayable.
Brackets-This year was the toughest I've seen for getting through. You need to pretty much count on going 200+ each game. I think it's due to the disparity between the best and the rest. Teams that know how to break them down will hit 'em hard. If you're not able to do that, save your $.
Ball choices (ones I saw used successfully) - during team, strokers and tweeners I watched had success with balls like the Lucid, Nano, Nightmare or Marauder Madness (couldn't tell which), and Vivid. Those guys tended to stick w/those balls most of the way, but some switched to pearls and hybrids - Modern Marvel, Frantic, etc as they chased the shot left. The heavier handed guys I saw used balls like the 706A, Arson-low flare, C-System 3.5, Benchmark, and Radical Reax and then switched to cleaner pieces with backend-Tropical Heat Hybrid, Frantic, 706A-Nobody used a lot of surface.
Obviously, things like ball choices will differ from bowler to bowler, but I know that's always a question that comes up, so I figured I'd list what I saw working. FYI, my companion teams shot 3100+ and 3075 or so, and one of our guys went 2000 AE.
