I tend to agree with bowler25, think this isn't much of an issue. Plus you have to remember, people expenses will be larger for something like this. These folks have to live away from their homes for 5-6 months, the living expenses alone must be huge, plus salaries, bonuses, etc.
But I do agree with Nor Cal Bowler in regard, the paperwork aspect. It is 2010, why isn't more of this on the web? You should be able to sign-up, pay, make changes, get scores, etc all online. Yet there is virtually nothing available online. That has to change and soon, and we could see a reduced operating cost to offset the reduced entries we are seeing and help keep the tournament going.
(Note: When I say scores online, I don't just mean the totals as there today. I mean the frame by frame printouts you get at the end of every squad. Some bowlers want them, like me, other could care less, some it depends on how they bowled. The server storage costs to keep those online has to be less then the paper costs of the printouts. And if you only keep them available for say 30 days, you can delete some and use less overall space.)
