What I want to see is the completion of the 100 lane center at the Disney Wide World of Sports. (~2014). Then USBC National could be held there. About 1 hr from my home.

I am pretty certain this report is incorrect as to the 100-laner ... I do have messages in checking to confirm that.

Unless they would be nuts enough to build the place without any contract for USBC Championships events.

Riggs, they are crazy enough to do it. I am married to a source at Disney that says they are just waiting for the County to give them a tax break to build it. The plans are done, the site has been picked, and it's going to be built. It will be part of the Wide World of Sports renovation that is going to see them build a soccer stadium as well due to Disney's partnership with AS Roma.

well, being Disney they could build it and if it lost money they wouldn't even notice it, but I doubt they like to lose money on anything.  And without a contract with USBC I don't see how they make money!

If it does get built I am sure Disney will get a contract with USBC. Bowlers are getting tired of always going to the same sites to bowl nationals. Both men's and women's. But as always I wait to see it.

100 lanes at disney won't happen. With no guarantee of men or women nationals it would be a waste of money. Nobody in their right mind would finance any kind of project like that without some sort of commitment.

If I was forced to place a bet, it would be on no Orlando stadium being built without a deal for USBC tournaments:

Looks like it is a 30 lane center "boutique" style bowling I guess you could call it..  Not a 100 lane stadium..

jhutch, there is that boutique center going into downtown Disney that is totally separate from the once planned 100-lane stadium.

Look for USBC to go back to LAS VEGAS after the El Paso stop. It appears one of the Casinos is building a big enough venue to host the Nationals and it is a possibility this could be a rotating stop..................With regards to stops in cities where the Tourney has been held previously, Cities with venues large enough to host the tourney are NOT bidding on the tournament because they must give up a convention center for up to 8 months. The tourney starts in Feb and ends in July. Include the setup and time to dismantle and its 8 months. Reno continues to offer the biggest discounts as a host. If you also go back and look at the attendance for the USBC, Reno still receives the most entries along with Vegas. The in between stops like Albuquerque, Corpus Christi etc all fall off the pace with an average of 10,000 teams versus Reno with 14,000 to 17,000 teams. That's an average of 20,000 to 35,000 more bowlers attending the tourney when its in one of the Casino cities. The Orlando venue does not appear to be large enough to handle the Nationals. That's a shame. We could have had a stop on the East Coast.

The Casino in Las Vegas is South Point that is building a center for nationals.
