Another review from Nats...
« on: March 21, 2009, 03:49:15 PM »
Bowled 8:30 team wed 18th, i tool 3 balls with me Scorchin Inferno at 500, Big Block Diesel @ 2000 and an Angular One that is a little tracked up not sure the surface anymore. It has been working for me lately here at home so i didn't want to alter the surface right before nats.
To start team i didn't have much of a look, in practice i started out around 7 and i had mass recovery with my inferno and in 3 shots i had nothing. I moved in and tried to find something but i was tossing the ball by then and not much reaction because i was throwing the ball instead of rolling it. With a 127 to start team i thought i was screwed, i switched to my BBD half way through the first game for a little more pop on the back end. I started second game of team with a double and was starting to gain some confidence, i was in about 12 rolling it to 10 and i was getting better reaction with the BBD. I finished the second game with 223, 3rd game was 201. 551 with a 127 game i was pretty mad, i gave away to many pins. I finished team at 15-10 with the BBD.

Doubles i was bowling with my dad, he has a 167 average i am at 205 so i wasn't really thinking we would be competitive, i started the same place i ended team, i used the BBD for all of doubles and the people in front of us were trying to play up 10 so i started at 15-10 and i had a good look just no carry and i might not have rolled it great. I shot 195,200,188 for a 583. I felt better about that series.
For singles i started where i left off in doubles but i switched to my Angular first shot i left the bucket, i hit it flush and i chopped the 2,4,5, and left the 8 i couldn't believe it. I moved 2 board right and reeled off 5 in a row. Singles i shot 216,224,246 for a 686. I just kept moving left, i didn't have to move alot but i did move left a board every 3-4 frames.

I gave way to many pins away. I don't need a spare ball as i can kill it and roll it dead straight. I didn't miss a 10 pin, i think i only left 4-5 10 pins. But i missed a 4 pin a couple 5 pins that i just didn't concentrate on.

All in all i was happy with an 1820 AE and a 686 singles. I felt good that this was my best showing so far. I havn't even shot 1600 all events untill this year. And this was my 5th nats.
There is a shot but you need to concentrate and match up. I wish i would have polished my Scorchin for team, i needed a little more pop on the backend.
