Question for those who have bowled S/D
« on: May 23, 2021, 05:46:46 PM »
Just checking, are squad rooms for singles/doubles at the actual bowling center, and how much practice is given for the minor events? Thanks for the help.

The have a banquet room near the bowling center to check in and weigh your equipment similar to team event.  Located to the left before entering the bowling center of South Point.

6 mins same as team.  Because getting loose is definitely not an option for bowling apparently lol

Hi - Team event you have one team per pair.  D & S you have 4 bowlers per pair.  Team is a fast pace but D & S are really fast.  You must wear a mask at all times.  They are watching.  Coach Denny

Hi Bowlers and Nationals - Subject - Face Masks - As you have seen in the news we are rapidly moving to no mask and minimal social distancing.  Now we are months into the 2021 Nationals with both requirements having been strickly enforced.  To make things fair for everyone I do not see them changing the competitive rules.  Just my thoughts!  Coach Denny

During the squad briefing they say the mask will stay in place for the full run of the tournament to be fair to those who've already bowled when mask were mandated

Also heard the tournament director resigned two weeks ago. Curious if it has to do with USBC not sending in their usual staff to help run the tournament and forcing them to rely heavily on local volunteers etc.
