New ball for Reno
« on: February 20, 2007, 01:45:01 AM »
Thanks to those who have replied to me via emails, etc...

I have two votes for a Red Zone, two for a Black Widow, one for a Big Time, a Whirlwind, a Vibe, a Pain, and a Big Shot.

Do any of you have other suggestions?

I'm looking at a ball to fit between my Hammer Big Deal and Doom and or a better ball recommendation, particularly to take with me to Reno. My style is cranker with normally 17.5mph on Qubica and 420+ revs. PAP is 5 1/8" over and 3/4" up. Reno's shot is 23.25 milliliters with 4.75:1 ratio from the 2 board to the 20 board and 40 ft. long.

The Big Deal (particle pearl) and Doom (reactive pearl) are pin over ring finger (about 4.5" from PAP; grip line is about two inches positive shift from CG with a balance inside my PAP). Big Deal's surface is 1000 grit matte and it plays well on 37' and 40' sport shots playing up the lanes like a 15-8 swing ; Doom is 2000 matte can be played similarly on the 40' when the lanes break down, but it's very skid/snap.

The other balls I own that I'd consider for this condition are a Hammer Big Block Diesel (solid reactive) at 1000 grit with light polish and a similar drilling to the two above, but the x-hole is equal and just below my PAP. The other is a Particle Pearl Diesel currently at 2000 matte pin below ring finger, same distance to PAP and CG, but the x-hole is dropped below PAP to increase flare.

Any input is greatly appreciated to help me make the best decision for my next purchase.

Thanks for your time!

Ken

Ken...Black Widow...hands down.  Drill it to rolllllllll.  On the leftside you will probably play right around the track area, so controlling the midlane will be key.
