It was 110 degrees outside, yes, but I do not understand how people can be complaining about wanting to wear shorts while in the Cashman Center. I froze my azz off in there! I spent the first game of team adding tape, tape, and more tape because my thumb was so shrunken from it being cold in there. I ended up using more tape in my spare ball than I ever have before. No exaggeration. I only shot a 139 that game because I missed four makeable spares dropping my spare ball since my thumb kept shrinking the more we bowled. (Thank God I finally got the right feel and shot a clean corner-pin-filled 668 in doubles to save me from total embarrassment!)
And this comes back to something of a societal trend. Whatever happened to wanting to look good in public? I personally don't mind wearing slacks and a nice polo shirt while bowling or even playing golf. Not only do I actually think they're comfortable, but I look good wearing them. I do not, however, look good wearing ratty jeans or shorts. Oh well, at least that's still a step up from wearing sweatpants or pajama bottoms like I have seen entirely too often from people in league...
