Nationals arsenal, what'd ya take or takin?
« on: March 09, 2008, 08:32:00 PM »
I'm dragging 6.

Black Widow Bite
--4 1/2 pin to pap, 25* mb(2 1/2 to pap) at 2000 grit.
T-Road Solid
--4 1/2 pin down at 1000 grit
Anger
--3 3/8 at 2000 grit
Black Widow Bite
--5 3/8 pin to pap, 45* layout at 4000 plus bwick high gloss
Rampage
--5 1/2 pin to pap--2000 plus polish
Spare
--the most important ball

I have alot of controllable stuff and one semi-flippy one.  My past experiences at the Nats have told me surface and control.

I see a lot of people talking about bring balls with lots of surface...In my opinion this would be a mistake.  While I would bring 1 with surface that will not be used once you break down the shot, which will only take less than a game in team.  There is a lot more back end this year then usual.  This is probably due to the sport certification this year, my guess.  Too much surface will cause your ball to burn up and not carry well.  Like I said earlier the people I saw scoring best were using pearls with some sort of polish on them.  Anybody I saw using balls with surface were either going through the nose or having to send it out wide and finding the OOB.  That is also why I went to teh Ebonite booth and polished up my TNV BEFORE team...

It may be nice to know what you're taking, but I'd like to see whats WORKING out there.  I remember last year the Special Agent was the hot ball, not sure if I've heard one this year.

Fury 1000 grit, Pin under ring - 5.5" pin to PAP, CG 45 degrees from grip center
Awesome Revs 2000 grit, Pin next to ring, 5" pin to PAP, MB about 45 degrees (Roll monster)
Twisted Fury OOB surface, Pin under ring, 5.5" Pin to PAP, MB 45 degrees, X-hole on VAL (Messengers everywhere!  Plenty of postage baybee!)
Fury 4000 grit, Pin over ring - 5" pin to PAP, finger hole drilled out, screwed up length drilling.. but I love er.
Tzone - If I could master this ball I'd average 230 easy LOL.

I might leave the Revs at home.  I haven't decided yet.  I like to have the pearl particle roll monster to smooth out over/under, but the Twisted is so good, I probably won't need another ball.

I used either my shiny or dull Widow Bite the entire tournament.  I saw lots of Bites and Gravity shifts working well.
