Riggs' USBC reports
« on: March 31, 2009, 04:58:22 AM »
This year I am going to be using my bowling blog (The 11th Frame) at our newspaper's Web site to post my USBC reports. I am taking a laptop with me and will be doing reports each day.

The link to the first one is below and I will be posting the links to the others each day on this thread.

Riggs great bowling, congrats to you and your outstanding team.  One question though what did you guys use and where did you guys play to break down the lanes in team event?

Thanks
Rob

Rob. We followed the game plan I laid out on in my blog from Thursday or Friday so you can go back and read what we did there. Basically, we played between 5 and 10 with surfaces of 1,000 to 2,000.

Riggs,
Great shooting by all. Mike Shady's record continues to inspire....never under 1900 and now 2133. Good luck on a adding a few more Eagle's to your collection.

Great bowling Riggs and crew!!
When I saw the teams on your minors pairs playing where they did in front of you guys I figured you had to have been licking your chops.  We had those two pair for our minors a couple weeks ago and had a similar look.  Creep in every few balls to stay ahead of the moves and it was pretty easy to at least be in the pocket.  While there is no way we'll ever throw your type of scores as it's tough to all stay on the same page let alone communicate, especially in minors, I'll take my near 200 I averaged on those pairs any day.  But I noticed IF you rolled the ball and stayed firm with the fingers it would bang the pocket pretty good from about 10-12 at the break.  If you laid off on the fingers it would squirt a little wider and leave a 10 or in my case 1-2-4 which was an easy spare.  But more importantly both pair where fairly similar. I threw a Power Swing for Doubles on 17 and 18 and when I came up light the first ball in singles on 19 and 20, switched to the Rogue and had the same look pretty much.  Also seemed the racks where fairly squared up.  Again awesome to see you guys do what you did.  Even before you bowled the Wisconsin gang has had a pretty good showing with guys from our scratch league here in Appleton being members on teams that are in the top 12.  All 10 of you, knowing that is what it takes to have success out there, make us proud of the accomplishments we see year in and year out from some of our finest. The fact you guys are all so open with how you do it and what you did it with is sportsmanship to the max.

Great info again Jeff. For those of us yet to bowl, we certainly can't say we didn't know what to do! I just hope I have the proper equip to handle the lanes.
