Holy Crap, bowled the ABC shot last night

Ahh I am humble bowler.  I mean I'm not that good to begin with(avg 182 this year)but anyways one of the alleys put out the abc shot for the group of teams that is traveling to Reno this week.  I could play straight up 10 to the pocket w/a plastic White Dot that I usually use for 10 pins. I could throw my Brunswick Power Groove over 18 or so back to 12/11 and it would hit the pocket pretty hard, but it was like splitting hairs for me since I don't usually play in that far. After the lanes had been bowled a while I started throwing a Storm Eraser blaze straight up 5 and is was hitting the pocket nice and carrying well, I would dare to say I even had a 2 board fluff zone.  I am throwing medium speed, probably at the high end of the medium rev spectrum.  Any of you big shooters have any opinions on this??  Thanks for any replies.

The most common thing I hear every year is that putting the pattern down in the home house was not the same as being at [insert event location].  Lane topography is very difference and lets face it, not all lane machines are created equally.  I cannot offer an opinion since I have only bowled the condition on a local center, but do not bowl the ABC tourney...

That said, it may allow you to get a better idea of what equipment to take and what to leave home...

you can always throw some polish on them if you want it to work better for dry.

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.

Yes, it doesn't help one little bit UNLESS, as you imply, your test lanes are very similar to the ABC lanes. In Montana I practiced at the local lanes who claimed they put down the ABC shot. Only later did I realize that they probably did, in all good conscience. However, the "shot" was nothing like the ABC tourney.

I believe the lanes are wooden heads and synthetic backends, but I'm not sure how that compares to the Bowling Stadium's lanes.

The stadium lanes are well worn synthetics and are not very bowler friendly
