Title: Storm Mixed Challenge Tournament
Post by: NY Mike on January 11, 2010, 04:15:30 AM
Any information on this year's Storm Challenge.   I have bowled the Mixed Event the last several years - 3 game team, 10 Baker style but do not see a
pending schedule for this year's events.  Any information is appreciated. thanks.

I just called USBC headquarters.

I got a guy who took forever getting the info - according to them, the event's been cancelled for "lack of participation".

I thought selling out in most areas was considered GOOD participation!!!

Once again USBC looking out for their members!

The comment about the TD being let go is probably more accurate. We bowled the Columbus OH stop and I know the bracket man Buddy Deluca from driving to the "burgh" a few times to bowl his tournaments. Buddy said they were probably going to end up downsizing Mr. Boedecker and that he had almost 30 years in with them but that didn't seem to matter to them. Sad to see someone get the axe for his service to the game as we had dealt with Tom during the original World Team Challenge days in the early/mid 90's during its hey day.

Couldn't agree more. I have dealt with him for several years - always a class act. I guess that's why he doesn't belong with the USBC any more.

We bowled the one in Atlanta in November...it was a blast.  They had 36 teams at ours but I heard they were struggling in other stops.
