USBC 2009 Las Vegas Question
« on: February 11, 2008, 02:16:22 AM »
(I know this is more than a year away.)

With the tournament being at the Cashman Center on the north end of the strip, where would you who are going usually stay: on/off the strip, etc...?

I figure I'd stay on somehwere and most places will have a shuttle service. I might try the Gold Coast since they have a bowling alley inside, too.

I am going to be a resident sub for anyone next year, i figure if i put my name on the board and from here i might be able to bowl 6-10 times total. I guess i need to work on my first squads first and then worry about the rest of the hookups.

So dont freakout if you lose team member late, i am self employed and can make most squads just a heads to br members.

I hope you realize that you can only bowl once in each event.

If you are coming from out of town then you you almost have to stay on the strip.  It is worth it for the experience.  If you are looking low cost then stay off strip.  I will probably stay at TI that is my favorite place that is on the "upper end" of the strip even though it is technically center strip.

other casinos that would be closer to the Cashman center (without looking at a map) would be The Alladin and the Stratosphere(strip wise) again this is just off the top of my head.

I'm sketchy about the Strat, but the coaster was cool.

Old downtown is a lot of fun and considerably cheaper in all aspects.  You can always take a bus or rent a car to take in the other sights.  A mile at most from the lanes and you have quite a few places to choose from.

I prefer the Gold Coast, excellent water pressure for showers amongst hotels.

Also, very reasonably priced.

I stayed at the Stratosphere in September for my 25th anniversary and was very happy with it.  Caught The Deuce (bus service) right in front of the building for 5 bucks a day to get around.  The outdoor pool on the 8th floor was nice and it has decent amenities with reasonable midweek rates.
