USBC Nationals - Bad Racks
« on: March 06, 2009, 05:32:42 AM »
bowled on feb 25,26 at vegas was utterly amazed at how bad the racks were on all 3 pairs we drew - 27/28, 53/54, 55/56.  lane 53 was comical the headpin was left of alignment by a full inch.  really closed pocket and a stuffed packed shot left a solid 10 almost everytime.  on all 3 pairs I bolwed every lane had one pin off.  I personally bowled horrible as I have a knee injury and a severe pulled groin (oh, lots of fun getting that loose without beer) and late me emphatically state, the racks had nothing to do with my scores.  You have to hit the pocket a hair more frequently than I did to blame any rack.  That said I was really disappointed in the racks, I epxected much more - like the pins being set down in place  I come from a town with 3 bowling centers and you cant find 5 good racks in the 50 some lanes so I am used to it.

seems others have a problem with it too as I was hoping I was not imagining it.  My teamamtes never see that stuff like I do.

Russell,
thanks for the posts.  And your honesty on how you played minors and how you did.
How did you not win any money in brackets for team?
Those look like good scores for team brackets!!

A very unfortunate series of circumstances led to me not being in any boards....

My sponsor was there and loads me and my buddy up in all...but we found out in the 8th frame of the last game we weren't in anything due to a couple of errors.

There was a LOT of drinking after we got done to drown that out  Part of what led to the debacle Sunday in S/D.

Oh well...always next year.

cannot comment since the shot was eased up since we all bowled it, got a buddy in a booth who said the USBC will not confirm this but it is everywhere down there.

So on the old shot I stick with strokers playing dull up the out of bounds line with a minor point in. Guys with more tilt will kick out plenty of tens, the right way to play them is inside DUH!!!

I said that read again, face it most of us suck on a hard pattern some just cannot admit they suck.
