I tried twice to post this on the USBC Tournament forum, and it never got past the screener.

I found a promo code for the Grand Sierra for two free nights. The code is valid from April 3 thru May 12, Sundays thru Thursdays. This is NOT a comp with a players card. Go to https://res.grandsierraresort.com and enter code SPRFRE2. (Note there appears to be a $10 resort fee, not sure if it is waived with this special.)

I can speculate is to why I can't get this on the USBC forum, but posting a way to save bowlers money - some of the same bowlers griping about costs associated with Reno - gets stoned. But yet there are threads about costs of Harrah's Reno (including many posts by myself), and a thread from my teammate about every deal he has found on cars, airfare, condos and hotels.

Then again, the leaders at the USBC never have made a lot of sense.

speaking of saving money I just found out you can ship your balls to the Grand Sierra Bowling Center and Rick will hold them for you to pick up. Get this he doesnt' charge you a thing. I will definitly be doing this because we will bowl the BJ and 123 anywyas. Also you don't have to lug your gear all the way there to bowl. There is a link on the Bowl.com and he has his number listed in a post the says Bowlers Journal/ 123 Tournament. Hope this helps some people save a buck or two or $25. Going on April 12th bowling the 14th.

We did that last year, and the caveat is that you have to arrange for him to be there when you want to pick them up. We had a little heartburn last year when our plane was late and we wanted to get our stuff to bowl side events and Rick was gone. It was all handled, but just something to keep in mind.

Hmmm he said that he keeps them in the tournament office and can be picked up anytime the BJ's or 123 is running? Well we will give it a try because it will make things much easier for us. Thanks for the heads up though.

That is correct, but those tournaments generally run until about 4:00 PM.
