Who's used the shipping service, how pleased were you and how much did it cost?
Thanks

That seems pretty steep.
Did you use the bowling ball express?
Or did you ship them to your hotel.

I revised the weight and dimensions and got it down to $61. Ball, totes and miscellaneous I can't pack carry-on.

I just went and did a practice cost/time from wi to reno.
The cost was $51 one way.
Not the worst price in the world.
Figure it is better than letting the baggage handlers use them as throw toys.

I tried from Oshkosh to a Reno zip code.
Based it off of a 65lb. weight and the longest ground shipping.
I've packed 2 2 ball totes the last couple of Nationals.
Saves me the hassles during airline travel.

Scott33,
Probably just taking my 6 balls that I plan on taking to Nationals to State this year.
Might save me some headaches.

My teammate just priced 4 4ball boxes from WI to Reno.  $189 via FedEx to our hotel (Circus Circus - which he confirmed with them that this is ok to ship them there) VS. $238 via UPS/BBE to the stadium.  Since we plan on bowling the BTM/40Framer beforehand, we'll probably go FedEx on the way out and UPS/BBE on the way back.

Jay,
Let me know how those shipping plans work out for you.
I'll be basically be doing the same exact thing about 4 weeks after you.

Also let me know how MSN airport was.
I'll be flying out of there it saved me around $70 per ticket compared to MKE,ATW or GRB.

Nah, only 1948 miles!!! 3 drivers, 8 hours each get there in a day.
Besides, I hear Nebraska and Wyoming are two of the most scenic states in the country.....you know, if you like hundreds of miles of nothing to look at......

Mike... I'll let you know.  We shipped balls similarly last year and it worked fine.

Actually we are flying out of Midway on Southwest.  Direct flights to Reno for $218, and friend owns a limo company, so he'll take us and pick us up for a decent rate.

Any comments on people who have used the express service to Reno this year and back? I am going in a couple of weeks and wondered how it worked and could you put ball cleaner with your balls? TSA says its a hazardous material?

I used the service and was happy with it. Sent 4 balls from Iowa, the price was around $45-50 each way. It took about 5 working days to get there but I always ship early and give it 7 days.

As far as ball cleaners. I put mine in with the 2 balls I checked at the airline counter and had no problems. As far as I know that rule only applies to carry-on items.

As a note, you probably do not need to buy extra insurance through BBE. They will automatically insure up to $500 I believe - you might want to check on the exact amount BBE insures for. Myself and others in my group didn't know this and were charged more than we were expecting on the way out but the people at BBE were nice and refunded the extra money we'd paid for the "extra" insurance.
