Hey guys, this is going to be my first time goint to nationals. was thinking of flyng but too afraid about my equipment. have any of you guys have any problems with your equipment on the plane such as balls cracking or something? was thinking of carrying 4 balls which i''m planning to take as a carry on. any thoughts?
Most airlines will only allow two balls as carry on.Better go early in case they make you check two.
I''ve never had a problem with the balls being damaged, but the bags are another story. If you have a retractable handle I HIGHLY recommend you secure it to the bag. The handlers tend to use the handle extended to move the balls from place to place. This ends in over torqued, bent and broken handles.
I now use the three ball tote with a fabric handle and keep balls protected in separate pouches. Weighs in at 49 lbs. No problems in the last six flights.
I carry on a single ball and my shoes in case the three I checked gets lost.I also carry on my accessory bag with scissors, tape, rosin, glue etc. and just put my bevel knife in the checked bag. They did take out my new skin once because it had the flammable sign on it but I replaced it with liquid band aid(no symbol)and it gets through.
Bottom line is if in doubt check it or leave it. You can buy whatever you need at the manufacture''s booths and just ship it home when you leave.
