highs and lows
« on: February 03, 2004, 11:01:57 PM »
Just wondering what everyone's high and low points have been at nationals. My high would have been in Syracuse when we placed 48th. The low would have been my first year to nationals in Reno when my doubles partner shot 740 something and I shot like 480 could not hit anything that day. Overall best I did I think was in Syracuse of the 3 that I have been to.

Highs - anticipation of this tournament all year

Lows - my scores

Lastly I wouldn't miss it for the world though.

Low - Reno, 98' - I shoot  in the 5-teens in doubles, then in singles I miss 3 easy spares for 590-something(I WANTED that 600, dammit!)

High - Knoxville, 04' - I make 600!(in singles)(Minor low point - I shoot 1730 and miss the all-events cut by 2 (censored) pins, after missing at least 2 single-pin spares!)

I really shouldn't call those lows, as I actually got some money back both times I went, but I was still a little bummed out.

High:  Shot 564, and cashing my first ABC check for $67 after singles in Billings (I made a color copy too)

I was 5 pins higher in singles the year before in Reno (569), but missed cashing by... 5 pins.

Low:  409 in doubles in Syracuse

Well, last year was my first time going. In team even I was good, shot around 590 and made $140 in brackets, we also cashed(not much, but we did). In Doubles, I had around 570, made $100 in brackets and me and my partner also cashes. Singles, it was about 2 a.m. and we just wanted to leave. We were driving back right away-about a 12 hr drive. I shot like 480.
