What three balls to Reno? Spare ball and Hyper Cell and ?
« on: March 21, 2016, 09:42:53 AM »
 Hi there,
I am looking for a discussion thread because you guys and gals are sharp cookies. I am a low rev stroker, rev rate 225;   average speed 14 to 16 mph  medium axis rotation and medium to low tilt.

Please throw out some thoughts as to a second ball to go to: hybrid? Pearl and if so which pearls what do you think. Smooth drillings or  strong drillings due to my low rev rate?
What think of the phase or rave on (high diff) for my 3rd ball.  I may be old, slower and deteriorating skills but still love the mental stimulation of the game and it's comraderie!!

Thanks for any discussions.

I would for sure look into something not quite as strong.  Obv you have stated you're bringing an HP4 ball, so I'd look into an HP3 and HP2 ball just to keep things simpler w/o knowing you.

I'm 14.5-15 mph speed with low tilt and an average amount of hand (I don't have an issue getting the ball to start up).  FOR ME, I've used for the past 2 years an IQTP at 2000 (lower RG, low diff) for 7 of 9 games, went w/a shiny Uproar and IQ Tour Fusion when needing to get in and get on it.

So, with the length and volume for this year in Reno being so close to El Paso, CONTROL is a huge factor.

Medium symmetrical ball.

Visionary Blue Warlock XV
Storm IQ Tour
Storm Fight
Roto Grip Devour
Motiv Venom Shock

Can't go wrong. Each ball will roll well and play to medium patterns well. From my understanding and what I have viewed so far of the pattern, if all you take for the other 2 is a Spare and a Hyper, you have a wide gulf to fill with just one ball.

Good to hear from a few others with similar styles. I asked Storm based on my specs and the suggested a IQ Tour and a Fight, both drilled 4x4x2. I already have a IQ Tour drilled 4.5x4x2 7/8 and they said, close enough. No change in surface, but I am leaning towards 2000 since the ball is not that new.
