What's funny is they won't be the ones complaining the most.  It will be the crowbar kings that need the bounce right to get their equipment to come back.  

I personally would love to see them make the pattern shorter one year around 35/36 feet.

I would probably throw splits and miss easy spares...oh wait...thats what I've done for the past two years at Nationals :/

Yeah me too...I'm one of the aforementioned "crowbar guys" that shoots 1700 every year...I just don't complain about the shot

I guess I should have been more specific.  Does a long pattern shut out certain styles or make breaking down the lanes in team more or less difficult?

I think those with lower revrates would be punished a bit...which is most of the people that go to nationals.  The tour doesn't have this problem because the lowest revrates out there are higher than 95% of league bowlers.

If you watch other people at nationals the majority are going straight up the lane on a 39 foot pattern...they would have no chance of carrying if they can get the ball to the pocket on a longer pattern.

That's just my opinion and I could be wrong...

Are you talking if they left everything the same and just went a few feet longer? With going longer they could throw out so  many different options. I have not been to a Nationals event in like 6 yrs so I have no idea of what the pattern is like right now. Going off of what I have bowled on IF they just went longer there would be A LOT of complaining going on. I have seen many guys have problems getting the ball to wrinkle the it is. I could not imagine would it would be like if they just went longer.

I've yet to bowl nationals but I've bowled on the Nationals shot 2-3 times. I've found it too short. So if it was lengthened, it would probably benefit me personally.

It also felt like the volume was pretty low. It was a lot lower than I was expecting it to be, anyway.
