Trying to get some insight on what balls have had some success or at least a fighting chance at Baton Rouge so far. From what I've read most of the bowlers have been agreeing that a dull symmetric ball would have abit more room for error if you throw it just outside the 8 board (sweet spot), even if you get a nine count.

In my opinion, with you lower ball speed and the amount of backend hook on the fresh this year, you will want to be playing out around 6-7 at the break point. Also, with polished equipment, at nationals, you will get a definite skip/snap reaction once your ball reaches the friction down lane. I would recommend what I have read many people post here. The take polish off of both off you balls for team. I would probably put 1500 on the cell and 2000 on the hot sauce. After team, and based on the reactions you saw, and what squad you have for minors, you can polish them for S/D at one of the booths.

I read one post on BR and one on Bowl.com about using a Track 300T with some success. That seems to fit the mold of using a sym ball on the pattern. I have not seen any 300Ts rolled in my area. I do have a rapid fire solid and while I am not great with the numbers is that similar to a 300T? I believe the core is smaller but I not sure of the other differences. BTM overall hook ratings are similar for the two at 47 and 48 respectively.

I bought a 300T when I got there and had it sanded to 1000. Worked really well for me first two games of team, when i hit my mark anyway. Tried it in 2nd shift doubles first game and it was leaving too many flat tens. Switched to a Cherry Vibe but it was 4000 polished and jumped too much on the back end. Ended up with my shiny urethane Hammer. Moved inside with that and had the best look. Shot two games over 200 with it.

That's Interesting that the cherry vibe reacted that way. I guess you need control equipment and that's why you went to a shiny hammer urethane ball? Was that a faball or the new blue hammer?

My ball speed is 14-15, not really sure on the rev rate. Medium high I guess. My shot was up the 8 board for team.....as long as I hit that spot I got a strike. Hit the 7 and it was a washout....hit the 9 for a split....hit the 10 and watch it go left. I can tell you I hit the 9 board 8 times.

Dbls we were 2nd shift. Tried the same mark with the 300T first 5-6 frames, it was just burning up too much in the front. (4 flat tens and a strike in the first 5 frames). The cherry vibe would launch like a rocket at the end of the pattern. Wish I would have knocked the polish off ahead of time. 5 splits in the first two games with it.

The urethane is the new Blue Hammer one with the Vibe core. It's an awesome ball! I was able to move more inside with it, played up 15 and shot a 211. Then we had to switch pairs and took half the game to find the left lane. Shot 213 second game. Then my line dried up third game and didn't have anything to ball down. Three more splits.

This is the third open I've attended. Didnt shoot very good scorewise, but was happy with how I did.

There were some guys playing deep inside. I don't have the ball speed for that.

One of the guys that went with us used one of those. It was his first time at Nats.

Our league shot this year has been very difficult. As a last resort I picked up the Blue around New Years. I've been throwing it ever since. First time back with a reactive was this tourney. Up until the day before we left I was planning on the Burgandy Faball, Blue, Cherry Vibe, 718A and Maxim spare ball. Took all those minus the Burgandy. Kinda wish I would have taken it and left the Cherry Vibe at home.

Took a bit to relearn how to throw the urethane stuff.....really like it now!

I had the 300T drilled therein the Ebonite booth based on KYLE's recommendation

He mentioned I should have the 5-6-7 board to myself (lefty) and he was dead on

I did not realize that i should have listened to him until I was done.

I had mine at 2000 dull

im 375 ish and 16-16.5

getting the ball to start turning before the end of the pattern is ideal

Take your equipment to the EBONITE booth prior to team event

KYLE will evaluate your arsenal and surfaces

You can decide what to do from there

Those guys know right where to play and what surface based on what you tell/show him

I would not hesitate to buy from them again

I've seen the track videos of the 300T. I haven't actually seen one thrown around here. What would you compare it, if any, balls that you have or seen?

It reminds me of my Onyx Vibe. The 300T is very strong for me. Tried it in league last nite....way too strong as expected.

Pretty much any symmetrical core ball with a dull finish should work fine. I happen to like the Track stuff, so that's what I went with.

I also got mine drilled up at the Track / Ebonite/ Columbia 300 booth by the K+K guys....they did my 718A last year at Reno too.

I was looking into some of the sym balls I have like the t-road, rapid fire, marvel, hyroad that might roll like a 300T. I have thrown an Onyx before and it's smooth. I thinking I might go with the hyroad and bring the cover down to 2k. I have a marvel that is being punched out right now that could be used in the fresh for awhile.

I'd go with whatever ball has the lower differential and dull that one down (depending how its drilled). If you are going to play outside that is. Then try to have another ball that goes abit longer for when the lanes break down. There was only one other guy playing a similar line on team, so mine didnt break down till 1st part of game three......

I am on the left side and likely need a little more surface than the right side. Not sure I can ball up. Last year, I saw no breakdown whatsoever in nine games. I bowled the 920/30am squad for minors and the two pairs I landed on were fresh because no teams bowled on them.

I play on playing close to the outside and not tilting the ball very much. I hope that ensures the ball won't go pass the breakpoint. I want to keep my angles tight.

the 300T can be drilled many different ways

I have a weight hole on my axis to smooth out the motion

I bet you could drill the 300T to be fairly strong, mine is not strong at all

KYLE in the booth has it dialed in perfectly to start its movement just before the end of the pattern.

I had the same look on the fresh as in minors from the left side, with the proper angle and speed, the 300T was perfect, breakpoint was great, did not over react and the carry was very good.

Covering less boards was the key in my opinion

I also had a gamechanger-pin in finger, and an Outburst which was a little to early

I should have polished my GC for minors, it would have been better.

You can pretty much assume to use the weakest ball possible (not including spare or urethane) and it will bne playable.

Pin up and/or asymetric did not have a look in team

maybe on the burn if its shiny enough
