Title: Anyone using RICO on visionary balls
Post by: gripnrip on July 19, 2008, 05:10:19 AM
What ball do you have with a rico drill and how
does it react to the pattern your using it on.
I'm thinking of buying one for a THS when the
middle starts drying up.

I have three balls with the Rico:  AMB Bronze Centaur, Frankie May, and Immortal Solid.  Havent used the Bronze much so cant comment on that one.  I like what I am seeing with the FM and IS bowling on THS.

The Immortal Solid is at factory finish and has a very strong predictable arc to it.  I find it easy to make adjustments with this type of look from the ball. Doesnt seem to over-react in the backend.  For leagues this is my first ball out of bag and is excellent on a fresh THS for me.

Frankie May was redrilled to Rico and had the surface altered before that. It was 600 scotchbrited with Bean's Secret Sauce applied with a spinner.  This ball seems to be better after the lanes have transistioned or broken down a bit.  I usually start out with the IS and on occasion have switched over to the FM for the 3rd game.  This ball also has an even predictable arc but in its present surface condition handles less oil.  I did try this ball once or twice at the start of league on THS and playing a bit tighter line liked the reaction.

I like the reactions I am getting with the Rico drillings on those two balls.  I could not get a good reaction out of the FM with its original drilling even with several different surfaces but now I like it.  I did not like what I was getting with the Bronze Centaur with its original drilling so that is why I had it redrilled Rico, but I have not used it much yet.

I picked up a Charcoal Executioner with a rico drill. I only rolled it a few
times and like what I see so far. I target ten at the arrows and the ball goes strait and makes a nice controlled arc at the break. I'll try and shoot some video next time I practice.

Ultimate control ball is my Rico drilled Granit. Smooth with great hit. Take away all the over/under. You know how much it is going to hook and where on any condition. Can even play 5 arrow and out with it.
