Coverstock: Drakonian Pearl ( Reactive Pearl )
Core: Serpentine Core

The polished Drakonian Pearl coverstock allows the NEW BREED Pearl to get through the heads easier than the solid version and ends with a much sharper break (more skid/snap than the Gladiator Pearl). The elongated core and cap combination allows this ball to recover strong enough to move in deep and react enough on the back to carry when playing a tighter line or open up the lanes when you swing it to the dry outside.

REVIEW:

This ball currently sits between my G-3 and my Immortal Pearl with the G-3 being the ball that rolls sooner and the Immortal being the ball that rolls later (see my arsenal by clicking on the link).

What I determined was that this ball is very heavy rolling. If you've thrown the Ogre Pearl or SS Ogre, they too roll strong, but the New Breed is much stronger. If you've thrown the Gladiator Pearl, the reaction at the breakpoint is gradual, but the New Breed is much stronger.

I would say the angularity at the breakpoint is not as skid/snappy as the G-3 or Immortal Pearl as the New Breed Pearl simply reads the pattern and then makes a hard arcing motion to the pocket.

This ball may give you a little push if you are too deep and it doesn't transition through the oil properly. However, the recovery capabiilties of this ball could allow you to get away with this if you're release/rev rate is enough.

I found this ball to work well on the house shot when the fresh oil began to transition after a game and the mids settled down. I drilled this ball with a very long Pin->Pap 5 1/2 inches so those of you who position the pin 4-5 inches from your PAP will probably have greater success games 1-2 where the longer pin to PAP will have greater success games 2-3.

    Just used this ball in league,GREAT! Took me 3/4 of a game to get the shot but it worked out well. 199-225-253-677. Great backend at our tight house. Stood 20 over the 9 at the dots. Don't know the drill specs,drilled for length. Good looking ball too.

    This has quickly become the first ball out of my bag. I do not see a shot in which this ball could not be used. This ball if thrown right will give area on many shots. Many people have come up to me and said this ball looked like it read the lanes better than any ball they have ever seen. Drilling is nothing fancy, pin above fingers. First two nights in league shot 756 and 715 with it. Recently shot a 299 in a tournament.

    About me: Right Handed, High Rev Tweener, Speed: 16-18

    The ball is drilled pin over the Ring w/small balance hole. I left the Surface at factory finish. I have used it on on AMF Synthetic Lanes THS and wood each oiled to about 39 feet. This ball has control with a strong back end reaction. I like this ball as a compliment to my solid because it allows me to transition well with the lanes. It makes the move about 2 - 3 feet later than the solid. This ball gave me a sweet look as the oil line moved further in. I was able to hang it out and watch it come back ever so smoothly.

    Likes: Length, Controlled movement,and Color

    Dislikes: Heavy oil and Carry down

    This was the second Visionary ball I purchased and will not be the last. This ball gave me a sweet look as the oil line moved further in.

    Got this ball to hook later than my Frankie May.  It did the trick.  I don't use it that much because i like my Frankie May so much.  I do go to it after my FMG is hooking to much

    Used at both box finish and at 4000 abralon no polish.  Liked them both.

    I finally got to use this ball in a tournament and after a 195 first game of an 9 game set I shot the next 8 above 235 with my lowest being a 237 and the highest a 279 X two.

    I have the ball drilled with the pin above the ring finger and it goes long and makes a hard left to the pocket. The carry is great and had it not been for a nine pin and a solid ten I would have had my first 300 games.

    I got this ball to give me a stronger reaction to the pocket as I transition deeper inside. Used it as is out of the box. The first night I used it I was able to play 8 boards left of everyone else. I found it reads the midlane very well and makes a strong turn and gets into a heavy roll quickly. Pin is above and slightly outside my ring finger. 781 first night out. I recommend this ball highly!

    Likes: This ball is best on meduim to light lane conditions. This ball does not overreact at all. The New Breed Pearl is controllable ball and forgiving as well (like other Visionary products). I like this ball when the lanes burn down and the other balls are biting way too much. I also tend to use it as a spare ball on very oily conditions due to my spare ball skidding into the gutter!


    Dislikes: The New Breed pearl does not act well on oily lanes! Has a predictable roll pattern but will not hit strong if thrown out too far.

    Likes: This is one the most controllabe balls that I own. On medium to light oil patterns, this ball is the one to use hands down! I threw my highest series with this gem! I can throw it out wide and the ball comes back into the pocket. I can also use it for picking up spares such as the infamous 10 and the 7. The ball does not overreact much at all.


    Dislikes: fresh oiled lanes. This ball does not react well in the heavy oil. It tends to skid and roll straight or with little reaction. This ball is designed for medium to light lanes so it stays in the bag when the house has fresh oil on.
