I've been putting off this review, trying to decide if it's the ball or me, but I've decided to put down what is going on with mine.
This one is 15lbs, and had right at 3 oz topweight if memory serves me correctly. Pin above ring, cg in palm. On non-flaring stuff, I track right by the finger and thumb holes with above avg revs and avg speed. Box condition is very dull, and they are right about one part of the "urethane on steroids" claim - it likes to dig in early and keep going. I found it started moving before getting to the arrows unless there was a lot of oil out there. True, it is not snappy, but it arcs very hard for me. This is on a house shot, which is not what the ball was designed for. However, I got to a 41 ft flat pattern and discovered the ball hates any carrydown. After about 3 frames, it was sliding past the breakpoint.
OK, after that, I read that many like it polished. So I shined it up, and it helped the length tremendously. When I find a line that it works on, it will hit hard and carry well. The problem is, I can't stay in the same area for more than 3 or 4 shots before it either 1) grabs more lane and plows through the nose for a nice big split or 2) catches carrydown and slides through the breakpoint.
Recently, I just had more top weight taken out of the ball, and this seems to create less of an arc. Have not thrown it enough to tell if I really like this change or not.
Not trying to bash Visionary, as this is the only ball from them I have tried. When the stars align and I get it to go where it needs to go, it does hit well and carries well. However, I feel at this point that this ball and my style do not mix well.
