. ..The AMB-IMMORTAL is the latest adaptation of our highly successful Anti-Mass Bias core design. Unlike other balls which use dense materials to create a mass bias, the AMB design utilizes an extremely light cap opposite the desired mass bias location. This AMB flip cap creates a negative mass bias on the side with the cap and also creates a positive mass bias at the desired location. This allows the bowler to drill the ball in just about any possible manner, without affecting the core shape or dynamics.




         The AMB-IMMORTAL core has a heavy cap added to the bottom of the core.  This allows the density of the top cap to be increased significantly.  The result is a core that produces an extreme flare potential with it''s 0.078" differential (This ball was grandfathered in before the USBC changes and is currently higher than any new ball can be produced - BUT it is legal for use in all USBC competition because of when it was approved).



To Layout the AMB-IMMORTAL  properly, you must first mark the "Virtual Mass Bias" by drawing a line from the 1/4" locator pin on the backside, through the 1/2" white flip pin around the ball. Mark an "x"180 degrees from the AMB pin (13 1/2" from the AMB pin which puts the "x" 6 3/4" from the black pin. This Virtual Mass Bias point can then be treated using the same general rules that apply to other typical mass bias spots.


*** By using the AMB cap to create an Anti-Mass Bias (negative mass bias on the back side) it allows the ball to have a lower RG than the original DC core while maintaining a high differential. It also helps maintain more of the core dynamics for most drillings. In the case with most strong Mass bias balls, when drilling the thumb - you remove a large portion of the heavy core or cap used to create the bias, resulting in less of the core''s original dynamics. BUT, with the AMB core, you drill into lighter coverstock and save almost all of the original core shape - retaining the true reaction originally designed by the core. ***

drilled this ball up just like my immortal pearl with a 5 inch pin to pap. modified the surface with brunswick rough buff and brunswick factory finish polish. this ball with this drilling and coverstock prep works great as 1-2 punch with the immortal pearl. ball is strong off of the dry and will handle carry down with ease as the the lanes break down. the immortal solid works great until it just breaks too much or starts to burn up, switch to the immortal pearl and swing away. you will love the carry of the two balls.

1.  Modified Shark

The ball did not work quite as well as I hoped.  I was not getting the entry angle through the box finish, so I am going to polish it to get the right roll at my breakpoint.  It seemed to roll out at the breakpoint and did not work.  I am going to test it at 2000 Polish to see if it will work.  My assumption at first was that this was just a long oil pattern with less units of oil, and an out of bounce at 8 board, but watching others use strong balls such as the Columbia Resurgence, I am skeptical on the amount of oil provided for the pattern.

2.  Chameleon

I used this ball for a few games in polished condition, and it gave me the most room for error.  I used everything in my arsenal for this pattern, but this ball gave me a consistent roll at my breakpoint and a little more room for error.  I had a lot of continuation through the pocket with this ball.  I only threw it for about a game or two, but I feel it is a ball for the first few games in score before I switch to something a little more aggressive on the backend when it breaks down.

3.  THS (36-38 ft.)

This would not work for our house conditions, as my house has light oil for this length.  I could probably throw it for four or five balls, at a deep line (5th to 6th arrow), but its cover is too aggressive in the OOB condition.  I am not going to polish this one up to make it work for our house conditions, since I am going to use a Immortal Pearl and my SS Ogre playing a similar line.  This ball would roll out for me after 35 feet burning all it’s energy in the heads and mids.  The only way I would use this ball on this condition is if I was playing a straight trajectory with little hand and an end-over-end roll.  The ball is designed for oil, so I will leave it to only shots with the length and amount of oil needed for this ball to shine.  I will only polish it if the PBA patterns require it.

About two months later:  I have been thinking quite a bit on how this ball would work.  If I am going to a place with a very heavy oiled wall, this ball would be great to play deep inside lines and ride the oil.  It would have to be polished as well, although a tweener or stroker would probably use it in box condition.  It is still too strong for me to use on a typical house shot though, and I could use the Immortal Pearl in a deep line or play further outside with the SS Ogre.

When I first purchased this ball, I had intended to only use it on very heavy oiled lanes. But after bowling with it, it is the first ball out of my bag.  Averaging 212 with it in 3 leagues. typically I start 10 boards left of center and throw over board 15 swinging out to board 7. ball takes abrupt left turn and retains plenty of energy as it enters pocket. this line gives me a great angle to the pocket and excellent pin action plus this ball hits like a tank.  
i have bowled my best series to date at 774, and have been scoring very well with it this season. i would recommend this ball to anyone who needs a ball for med/heavy oiled lanes.

When the lanes are oily this is the first ball out of the bag.  This ball grabs the lane and has a controllable hook.  This ball destroys the pins when it hits.  Overall great ball.

This is the 5th season bowling with this ball.  This is my primary ball at 3 different bowling centers. I went thru many coverstock changes from dull to polished, until i found the right one 1500 sanded. I had the ball drilled early roll (1000 matted) out of the box.  Not knowing drilling an early roll layout will usually lose energize at the backend. Had alot of 5 pins, but adjusted.  When I first got the ball i did not have much revs and my speed was about 15mph.

With practice this summer I developed more revs and a comfortable speed (18mph). At 1500 sanded, THS synthetics, fresh oil, down and in, if the ball hits light move right at the approach and angle in from same mark on the lanes.
Once the lanes start to break down 4 pins I move left of the middle dot on the approach and throw out between the second a third arrow. 10 pins, adjustment time. Series 625, 685, 695, the last 3 league nights.  

Ball does soak up oil, keep and eye on the cover stock.
Great for slower speeds out of the box 1000matted

Gave an Immortal Solid to a pro shop buddy, never bowled visionary.  He has a ton of revs and speed, a lefty.  Need to ask him how he lay-out the drill for him, he keeps the ball highly polished and uses the ball when the lanes break down.  loves it, still won't bowl Visionary.
