IMMORTAL SOLID ???????
« on: December 04, 2006, 05:16:07 AM »
I have the Immortal pearl and I really like the reaction and carry. I have just purchased the Immortal Solid and thus far I am very dissapointed. The ball is drilled stack leverage, pin next to ring and cg slightly kicked out. I left the ball in out of box and it goes long and then just hangs at the breakpoint with very little movement. I have heard there are some surface adjustments that may be necessary. My speed is about 17-19 mph, so I am very scared to put polish on the ball unless I take it to maybe 360 abralon and storm1 finsihing compound. I am open to all suggestions thanks.

Andrew,

There is nothing about this ball thats "standard bullslit" This ball is completely different to any other ball ever made.

Its not the surface that was your problem, but the amount of flare this ball can produce. Without seeing your drilling on it, I would suspect that the burn out could be better described as ROLL out...

Once a ball flares past a certain point, it loses rotational energy. Because of its already strong flaring differential, any drilling that is designed to make a normal ball flare, gives this ball way too much...

I'm well aware of "roll out".  Either way, it was still a turd for me.

Surface won't help when the core is laid over at 35 feet.
