a couple of questions about visionary...
« on: June 15, 2009, 11:17:47 PM »
hey guys im a long time storm user whos been "convinced" by a resident guru on here who shall remain nameless that i need to be throwing visionary pieces because of my rev rate. so my first question is about the test staff. is that a deal where you have to renew envery year or once you join the test staff it's just that you get advance notice and discounts on balls? all right second question, based on my specs in my profile, what kind of arsenal do you guys who know visionary reccomend? my first piece would be something i could use on a ths that is on amf synthetics. i generally need a smoother reacting ball on ths untill i move really deep, then i need something with a little more backend recovery. so what do you guys think? thanks in advance, stopncrank.

For the First one an ogre pearl and the second either an ss or an g3
I personally love visionary but the only reason I do not throw them exsclusively is because I plan on regionals and they are not approved.  The gladiator solid could be a good ball to start with then when they dry up either the new breed or ogre ss

Personaly the ogre pearl is the smoothest pearl out there and it is quite worth it.

I am very pleased with my Frankie May Gryphon. It is a very simple ball, in the best sense, and I am amazed what this cover/core combo can do. The surfaces tunes easily, and you can use it IMHO on anything except for the extremes. It also reacts well to release changes, can hook/recover a lot if made to, and it is a ball that makes reading the lanes quite easy because it gives a clear feedback. A very good "package".
Not the newest ball, but if you want to experiment with VBP stuff, I'd recommend this one at any time if you want to try a strong reactive piece!

thanks for the responses guys. basically i use mostly storm stuff, but the person who told me i should look at visionary said they're pieces are alot smoother than other companies. he also said that they were operated by the gusy that used to own faball, and i LOVED all the old faball stuff! so it seems like a good fit. i have a high rev rate and alot of axis rotation so i need short cores that will slow down sooner. im thinking of rico drilling at least one piece, and am looking at the particle ogre, so any of you throw the particle ogre?

The ogre particle with a rico drill is kind of counter productive.  The cover will make it roll smooth and that layout will make it roll even earlier

You can get info on Visionary website about test staff, or call Betsy. Great deal free shipping on the higher tier, advance notice of new balls. Yes $50 to renew. For first ball I recommend Ogre SS. Good luck!
