BTM Reviews on Visionary Bowling Products
« on: May 26, 2011, 09:13:18 PM »
The last ball that Visionary submitted for Bowling This Month reviews was the New Breed Particle Pearl.  Both the Spartan and Crossover were not reviewed.  Does this mean that Visionary Bowling Products will not be submitting balls for review any longer?

Hi Scott,

The reason is quite simple actually.  All marketing groups test out the profitability of marketing techniques from time to time.  It may not seem like alot from the outside, but when you add up all of the balls we were sending out for typed reviews, video reviews and test balls for magazines, it was adding up to over 5K per release.  We decided to hold back on two balls simply to see if it had any real effect on ball sales.  Unfortunately, we could not get a definitive answer to that because of the market volatility, so we will be sending balls in for review again starting with our next release.

Thanks for the response Jason.  I did kind of figure that it was costly for a smaller manufacturer.

I am a subscriber of BTM and either them or Joe Cerar of BJI have done the best reviews that the majority seem to fall in line with their info.  It's done more on a subjective basis.....less of an axe to grind so to speak.  I do garner some information from BJI and BTM reviews.  Let's say more info. that you can gain from video reviews on a house shot or a staffers reviews.

Thanks for answering the question!
