Ball colors ....
« on: January 05, 2007, 08:28:05 PM »
What's up with Visionary's ball colors lately?

Now, normally I'm the last one to complain about the color of a bowling ball. While it's nice to have a good looking one, I'm not a designer, a woman, nor am I gay. So I've never not bought a ball because of its color.

That said, I must comment that they have the biggest group of butt ugly balls by any manufacturer in a long, long time.

I like green balls but the new Immortal solid is very ugly shade of green - puke green. (The old, heck, ancient Green Gargoyle is a beautiful green.)

The Centaur solid is pink and blue. Maybe some women will like that combo; not I!

Now the new Ogre is what? Halloween Orange and Black?

I know these god-awful colors make Visionary balls stand out on the rack, but are they going too far?

Have to agree with you charlest, with all but the color Green in most cases.

The Hammer Toxic is terrible !!!!

LMAO. Immortal will be here next week. While I admit buyers have a tendency to look at colors, I can care less. If it strikes, so what. Hey those ugly ones can make interesting conversation too.

I do also, as I said, but time after time, you go to pick it up off the ball rack and it makes you want to upchuck . Well, I hope not.

There are greens I really like (very surprising, given I was in the Army nd I DETEST army fatigue green!), like the Green Gargoyle and the Blue/Green Centaur, but that Immortal is ... immoral.

Hammer also had the Vicious Attack which was black and yellow, which are the colors listed for the Immortal Solid.

I don't think the IS is that hideous, but then again I like my Toxic...

Charles,

You have been around long enough to know any talk "Good or Bad" Always promotes a product.

Not only do I believe VBP are smart in making very unique colour schemes to help them stand out on the rack, but if people are talking about how ugly the gear is, they are still talking about the gear

Personally, I like combination black and (insert random colour) schemes, as it gives the illusion that the ball is revving harder than it is.

This in turn subconciously tells me that there is no need to add extra revolutions, but to concentrate on other things such as feet position and target management

Whatever they are doing, it is working. The Immortal solid is an awesome piece, and judging by the core numbers alone, the Ogre sounds like a ball that alot of bowlers lack, a DECENT benchmark that will work on sport and THS alike

I think VBP are about to explode as a brand, especially after the 3 new releases....

I agree 99 44/100 % with almost every idea you have espoused.

I must also believe that is (part of) Visionary's plan.

I jes' been primin' the pump.
