VBP pours Banger Products in plant
« on: November 25, 2007, 07:41:29 AM »
Hey guys, I didnt know that VBP makes the balls for Banger Bowling products.  I was just curious what core/cover they are using.   The RG/Diff. combination for the Whole Pounder and even the color of the ball resembles the Gargoyle line and particularly the Violet Gargoyle.  But the core in the pictures show a core that resembles a modified version of the Gryphon Core.  I know the Violet is 1500 Grit Polished and this is 600 matte, but a cover adjustment can easily be done to get similar reactions.

If I can't get another Violet, I may try this ball.  But I'm definitely going to try some of the newer VBP equipment soon (FMG #2, Possibly Ogre Pearl, and am eagerly awaiting their new high performance line).

Just thought I might get an accurate answer on the Above ball as my Benchmark ball (Violet Gargoyle) has seen better days.  I may get another resurface job out of it but it may be in its last season.

Yes that's old news for most of us.  No big deal for me and I wouldn't pay what Banger charges.  JMO.

Go to the Visionary website and look under closeouts then look at the Burgandy Particle Gryphon.  That's the original Gryphon core. The 2nd generation Gryphon core is in the Blue Sparkle, G-3 and FMG which is what the Hole Pounders core looks like that to me.  Gargoyle core was rounder in the middle and has flip cap I believe top and bottom.

MVPBowler George maybe able to provide more info. as he once hooked up with Bang.

BTW Rodney if you are looking for a Violet.  Check here http://bowlersdream.stores.yahoo.net/violetgargoyle.html

I can't vouch for this place but maybe others can.

Thanks for the link Scott..  I've looked around and also found it at www.maysbowlingandbilliards.com but haven't had time to call on it or anything.  The last time I delt with them (bought FMG) they even let me pick which ball from there inventory I wanted to get the closest pin distance/Top weight/ to what I needed (great service). I will try them first because of good past experiences but if I can't get it there I'll try that link of yours.

I knew the core wasn't like what the origional gargoyles had.  They are similar to a grenade core with a side slightly cut off (I think its when they first started playing with AMB).  I will sure miss that ball when you can't get it anymore.  I've had 2 of my highest games and my highest series to date with it.

I thought it that way also.  Having owned both but looking at Visionary's website their visuals must be screwed up.

Oh well no big deal.  I am coming to the end of the road.

Bowl well.
