High track players beware.  The ball after major adjustments and surfaces, just continues to roll over the holes.  Ball should still grab the lane a little bit, nothing.  what a dissapointment.

I have found with quite a few of the Visionary balls that I have tried that I need to hit them with scotchbrite just a bit when they are bought NIB.  Otherwise, more length than I was expecting.

This month's BTM seems to indicate that the Centaur does much better in dry than in oil.  But then, the ball is only supposed to give you 1-2 inches of flare.

Very interested in this ball, especially since a large portion of my Visionary equipment makes big backend moves.  

I would hope to be able to use it when the backends are screaming and the other equipment tends to be real skid snappy.

Any input on the Centaur would be helpful to me too.

Good to see you posting again.  

I have a Centaur waiting to be drilled but I am waiting to read some reviews on it first to give me an idea of how to have it laid out.

Thanks for the warmth, I have lost my PC priveleges at work and my home PC blew up.  It has been tough trying to get on this site....and when I did it was pretty beat...but anyways...

If you could message me your opinions about the Centaur once you practice with it that would be great.

Also who's selling them now and days???.....Just Visionary or other online shops?

I picked up the Centaur from Visionary (my test membership runs out this month).  If I dont see any reviews on it soon, I will probably have it drilled up so I can try it out.  Wouldnt be the first ball I've had to have plugged and redrilled if I dont like what I see.

I drilled my Centaur pin over the bridge, cg down the midline to provide a little length.  Glassed it up a bit as well to tame down my hand and give me something to go to when they are scorched.  This has to be the hardest hitting "light oil" ball I have ever thrown.  Ball clears the heads effortlessly and makes a nice, smooth move at the breakpoint.  No knifing, jerking, or snapping.  Am getting another one and leaving it box dull just to have something to go to confidently in the medium-light oil range.  For the surprisingly lower than usual cost, you get high-end hitting power for a low-end budget.  VBP nailed a winner in this one.

Blue Sparkle as in Gryphon I assume?  There really isn't much of a comparison.  The Centaur is much smoother and more predictable than the Blue Sparkle ever thought about being.  The Blue tends to be more of a snappy, knifing backend reaction while the Centaur just continuously glides off the breakpoint.

How did you find this ball for length? in comparision to any other visionary balls? i finally recieved my test ball, and i am even more interested in drilling it now than before.

box finish is 1000 matte, which i don't remember visionary using before.
