The numbers are taken into account but in reality, i honestly have never had a solid ball like this slide so much. On fresh oil i was playing straight up 7 board, and from time to time could move inside to about 10 playing to about 7 and back to the pocket. this ball sits exceptionally well for shots slightly inside. and i was amazed really at how well it takes out the corners. didn't leave any on a house that is normally notorious for corner pins. I have used everything on this shot, from a green gargoyle that was laid out label, that was extremely over under, to a very polished and well used( aka old) black executioner and they all had the tendancey to burn up too fast,( reved up too quick so couldn't get down to the break point) so playing anything inside was not possible, you had to play something like 18 board(@ arrows) to 7 board and back to make sure it found enough skid in the oil but recovered enoguh because if you got it out past 5 it would roll out.
The centaur how ever, was first tested tuesday night on a broken down house shot. i started trying to swing it 15 to 5 expecting big backend and it had the tendancey to not finish very well, i squared up and played 15 to 10( @ arrows) and the ball was killing it.
last night played on a fresh house shot and like i think APK or MIA said the ball played right up 7 or 10 board. tugs inside held, and shots a bit outside recovered smoothly. NO over-under at all! not much burn out, the cover seems fairly strong, but the core is late to rev up.
I have the slate blue, and used it once or twice on a house shot and it was good for about the same type of line, but seemed to have a bit less recovery, and really skided alot for me. but got into a heavy early roll.
don't expect something for medium, you can really swing the ball with, for medium light maybe you could swing the ball a bit.
I laid this ball out stronger than i do normally. so just to give you an idea, i was throwing an ego, layed out 5x3 with my pin below my bridge and my cg right next to my thumb, and the ego would roll out and not recover because it would burn out too much.
The closest comparision i can make to this ball is maybe an Ebonite V2 dry and even that ball i think had more backend than this ball would. Or maybe even an ebonite tornado, they both have very close Rg numbers, but almost twice the flare and differential. Or actually the Pirhana Retro which i threw alot last season which i loved alot on wood. the Pirhana only had a differential of .024, but man did it have a lot of backend for a dull ball. great for light oil, and you wanted to really control the backend.
