Layout advice for a Midnight Scorcher

Just got this beauty(One like it) off EBay. Just curious on how to drill it. I have seen enough oil to warrent having this in the tournament bag. Any thoughts???


15.85lbs, 2.08tw, 3" pin.


 The balls that work the best for me right now are drilled...
38* x 4" x 26* w/P-1 hole (VBP-new breed crossover,oob 2000)
40* x 3.5" x 25* w/ P-1 hole (VBP-new breed particle pearl,1000 polished)
35* x 4.5" x 30* no hole (VBP gladiator pearl, 1500 polish oob)
Balls that I like the reaction with...
60* x 4.5" x 60* no hole (ebonite bash. oob)
90* x 3" x 45* no hole (storm eraser)
50* x 3.5" x 58* (VBP violet gargoyle, 2000 abralon)
37* x 4" x 68* w/ P-1 hole (frankie may gryphon, 800 polish)


Specs-
Right handed
PAP - 5", 1/4" up
17.5 mph on monitor
20* tilt (measured track)
Guessing that I'm matched speed and revs (now that I've slowed down)
45* - 60* axis rotation

I can't help you with layouts, but if memory serves me correctly, I think this ball was a urethane coverstock, so it started up early, more of a banana shape curve.  That may help you in deciding what layout to use.

Also, it is a particle urethane cover.  You will notice (feel) the particles more after they have encountered oil.

I talked to Willie Wells on the phone and hopefully meet him in Reno in March. He helped me with my layouts when I first got my new Visionary balls. I've done well with the Crossover, NBPP, Gladiator Pearl and the FM Gryphon. I think that I finally got the G. Solid right. Drilled pin under fingers and didn't like the way it rolled. Tweaked it a bit and need to throw it more.

Got it drilled and threw it a game. Very interesting. It does exactly what it is suppose to do. Rolls! It flares a lot, but doesn't over re-act.

Drilled it 40* x 4-7/8" x 35* pin above the RF, MB right of the thumb.

Yeah, that ball rolls well.  I remember when I had mine first drilled up.  Lined up like normal for a strike shot and watched the ball roll directly into the 7 pin.
 
As soon as it cleared the arrows, it started a slow but steady move left.

Should have drilled it with the little pin just Left of the thumb, Oh well. I used it a few times tonight, first two were strikes and the third was a crusher 9 pin. I get around ten boards of hook and it is a rolling. I'm sure I could get more but I like the controlled movement it gives.

I had people touch it and the comments were classic. Most just gave me that WTF look. Sandpaper? Got one Fuzzy wuzzy. My driller just shakes his head after the first strike. Gonna be in the bag, just in case.
