I am thinking about laying this ball out, with the pin over the bridge, and between the fingers. Cg kicked out right, so that would be a 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 layout for me. What are your thoughts on the layout on this ball. Want to get some insight on drilling them, since I just joined the Test Staff.

It should work well for you if you are a high rev player. I'm guessing its a long pin?

Pin to PAP of 5.5 would be pretty weak for me.
Since you are a member of the test staff now, why don't you take advantage of it and call and talk to Jason or someone else there about what layouts would work best for you.

Very good point! I really like that idea. Gotta do that with all of them, and maybe I get figure out my solid problem.

John,
Do check with Jason. I had the SS drilled that way and I really won't use it much because I don't have a ton of hand and the ball goes longer than I would like.
If anything, I should have put it with CG kicked towards or into the palm to make it more aggressive.....but didn't. Getting an Immortal Pearl and will be doing that though.

The G3 is a Long & Strong ball. If you have plenty of hand the layout sounds just fine. But if you are speed dominant & low revs, that would be too weak.
With the pearl cover the ball will get threw the heads nice and will have a strong very angular backend.
I would contact Jason and ask his opinion anyway you dont want to drll it wrong and have a ball you cant use.

Thats pretty close to what mine is, definition of skid/snap. It still flares about 5" even with this drill for me. Gotta have some dry in the back to work to full potential though.

Hi John,
The responses you have received so far are pretty much right on. Whether or not that layout would work for you, really depends on your ball speed and rev rate. For your average bowler (average speed and revs) or speed dominant bowler, that layout might be a little too long unless they are bowling on drier lane conditions.
That being said, if you are a high rev rate player, with average ball speed, this layout would likely work well for you. The longer pin to PAP will help you get the ball down the lane, while kicking the CG out will help give you more control with alot less over/under than you would get if you stacked it.
