Executioner?
« on: March 20, 2010, 01:56:16 PM »
Hey, what do you all think about this ball?  How big is the hook? What kind of conditions is it good for?  I checked Visionary''s site, but they dont list it anymore.  And I''m curious about some personal experiences.  I''m looking for some 14s and this is a decent deal.  Thanks!

The cover stock was designed to react like an older urethane type of ball which was supposed to blend out the condition.

It is a particle pearl and as it takes on oil the cover feels like a beard.

It was supposed to roll smooth but I found mine to get easy length and quite the bit of flip.  I couldn't control the PIE at all it gave me over under almost all the time.

Honestly I am not sure if it's a good THS type of ball it's probably better suited for tougher conditions.

If I had to do it again I'd get the Charcoal Ex again but not the PIE.

That's good to know because I'm going to be bowling on basically THS for the most part.  So this might not match up that well.  We'll see if anyone else has any thoughts!

For most the PIE was condition specific.

Actually The purple ice is my favorite ball of all time, although I haven't been able to use it in a year or so, since my center altered the lanes--new backends and have been putting out much less oil than they used to. I have 2 and the first one I got has a tame drilling on it...lots of length with minimal backend. To me this ball was kinda like a weaker mindnight scorcher--wouldn't over skate in the oil and wouldn't jump or snap on the backend, although the drilling I have on it probably had a lot to do with the non-jumpiness.

While it was a particle pearl, I believe it was a particle pearl urethane, NOT a particle pearl resin. If so, it is the only one of its kind.
(Remember Vsionary''s urethane''s are all strong except for the new Ogre U.)
