Alright Boys and Girls,
Jason asked me to film my first few shots with this ball OOB...The layout is 4.25" x 4" x 2.5" pin buffer....i have seen this ball go down the lane before but the surface was always highly polished...i can see why now!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xGfFsQlgDQ
For those of you saying my ball doesn't hook, get this ball, it will hook!...and if you cant hook this ball, i think you need to find a different sport
Also an extra bonus sneak peak at the gladiator pearl at the end of the video! This is a THS with some carrydown in the back, so the reaction of the pearl is a bit tamer than normal...on a fresh shot with clean backends this thing can go just about sideways!
Thanks for watching!

Great! (*lol*). How much oil was on the lanes?
The GP preview is nice, too. I hope I can get my hands on this piece, looks very promising in every video I have seen.

Its the same typical house shot i use in my videos, but with a few games on it...there was still plenty of oil upfront, but some of the oil had pushed to the back
So not a flood, but not a desert either!

Yeah.. I had a similar experience with a customer after drilling his AMB Particle. He was a lefty spinner and usually wasn't able to get anything to move. Drilled one of these up for him and his first shot started up just past the arrows and continued to hit the 3-6 pocket (lefty). I think we ended up hitting the ball with a grey scotch brite to smooth it out some and then followed with particle polish and factory finish overtop. The AMB doesn't make a violent change in direction, but it certainly does hook!

OMG Where would you use a ball like that....
Take the oil bottle and just poor it on the lane and spread it out..

It is one of the balls with the most grip OOB currently available out there. And it comes at 320 grit matte. If this ball does not turn the corner (given you have a decenr release), nothing will. Impressive piece, and a nice video

I would be lucky to get 40 feet out of this ball on the lane....

I am glad i saw this video, Mine reacts pretty much the same way. my first ball clipped the seven pin. this was the first ball that hooked like this for me. now i am struggling to figure out what surface i want to keep this ball at. i had a couple of shots that i wanted to use this ball, but the ball was setting up way to early.
This ball truly is a heavy oil ball

Hey Britton,
I think this is your best video yet!!!! LOL. That was great. I told you that it hooked a little, and that's why I wanted to see the first set of shots with the ball. Man, I wish I could have seen your face after the first shot....that would have been priceless!
Believe it or not, there are people that need a ball with this much hook potential. Either because they don't turn the ball much, or because they bowl a lot of tournaments and run into some long heavy patterns. This ball has made quite a few bowlers a lot of money, simply because they had a ball that hooked and gave them a little area the first couple games, when normally they can't get a ball to wrinkle. Shooting 200-220 instead of 150's the first couple games can mean the difference between winning a tournament and not even cashing.

DOn't be afraid of the ball. Remember in most cases, the stock surface is just a suggestion from the manufacturer and the designer. Start at 800 or 1000 grit and work your way up or down from there.

I would imagine at the stock surface you could you this ball on fresh flat pattern or something like the Shark and have a little area to play with.

I am pretty sure it is OOB a ball I could not use, even if drilled weak. I think at 2.000 Abralon it would be a good heavy oil ball for me and my style (nodding over to charlest and his surface prep wisdom). But is very good that there (still) are balls like this out there. Particle has becoema less frequent sight in current arsenals, and personally I'd prefer it for oily shots to pure reactives.

i think if would have seen this video before i would have drilled mine weaker. I have had to many balls claim to be hook monsters fall a little short. i will work with the surface a little. I have come pretty good at that with other equipment. ball spinner was probably the best investment i made.
my only question with surface adjustments with this ball. Can i use abralon since this ball is a particle. i know the first particles i had said use trizact or scotch-brite. Sandpaper was bad. Can i also use the trizacts with this ball? i do have some of those still left from my HPD
one nice thing about this ball is that it filled a spot on my arsenal that i never could fill.

With a ball as aggressive cover as this is, a weaker drilling will make maybe 1/10 the difference that surface adjustmenst will.

I'd suggest sandpaper or ABralon or ScotchBrite nylon pads.
