SS Ogre question

I'm looking for a ball that i could use on the most fried up lanes you'd encounter (without having to start cranking your spareball), and the SS Ogre caught my attention. Now, i haven't seen anyone actually throw it, but the specs looks promising.

Today when i entered the lanes in my league it had 16 games bowled on them prior, without re-oil. Couldn't stay right of the pocket with my Storm Agent, which is my weakest ball (which i've used for a while, and my rev-rate has increased in the last 2-3 years )

So how does the SS Ogre perform on scorched lanes? Can i leave it OOB, or will i need to tweak the surface?

try the BG Gargoyle or lanemasters Hornet (drilled weak).

I second the blue green gargoyle. I have the slate blue gargoyle and it out hooks the blue green centaur.

Unless you have VERY high ball speed, the Ogre SS is NOT the ball for very dry lanes.

The AGent is for medium to maybe medium-light oil, The Ogre SS can overlap a good deal with the Agent.

In the Visionary line you might want a B/G Centaur, possibly with a light polish.

The SS will give you slightly more back end than the B/G Centaur and Blue Slate with a weak drilling.  IF, you can move into the lane to find some head oil and keep your speed up I'd opt for the SS as your carry should improve with the SS.  It all depends on lane condition and your style.  For my style I'd opt for a weaker laid out SS as I have one and can compare to both balls mentioned.  If you are talking about staying more in the track than probably B/G Centaur.

The agent was a med-med heavy ball. U should be able to use the ss ogre under it.

Sorry, Water, but ---
The Agent was a 1500 grit POLISHED resin pearl ball. It was, for the vast majority of people, a medium-light to medium oil ball. Maybe in Robert Smith's or Bruns-Nick's hands it would handle medium-heavy oil. If Sanded to 1000 grit, it might handle medium-heavy oil; otherwise, it was for medium oil at best.

Actually, my Ogre Pearl, Solid and SS all sit underneath my Agent, with all balls at box finish.

My Agent is just a hook monster and handles more oil than even my Ogre Solid.

Something is wrong with that picture. Maybe there's just not enough oil for the Ogre solid. In box conditions, it is way stronger than the Agent, under normal circustances.

Charlest I understand where you are coming from, but the original agent flat out hooks. Many guys I know use it when I need to pull out a dull solid, the ball just goes when it encounters friction. It is strange, but the ball just straight works on oil and has been recommended by many that I know as a Medium-Heavy ball in box finish, its just wicked strong.
