Faball and Visionary
« on: April 20, 2007, 10:07:17 AM »
I am so glad that Jason posted that his family owned and ran Faball! Faball in my opinion was the BEST ball company ever. I used Faball in the 1980's when I bowled for MTSU. I had an original 1980 Black Hammer, and an original Blue Nail at that time. The Blue Nail I had was a lot lighter in color than the one produced later. When I got my Pearl Blue Hammer, that rounded out my arsenal and my first league 700 was with the Blue Nail, and my first 299 was with the Black Hammer. My first 200+ average was with the Black Hammer!

I wondered why when I drilled my Scorcher NPT, it smelled like a Hammer! The only non-Hammer ball I liked that much was my 1976/1977 MSG Star Trak and I have owned 4 of those, and my 1979/1980 Yellow Dot Bleeders.

I am glad that some of the core group of people from Faball are still around.  Faball was a class organization, who produced perhaps some of the best equipment, and definitely the most well know bowling balls of all time.

Visionary is on the right path, and I hope they have continued and greater success in the future.
