OK...here's a situation that I haven't seen in a long time.  With my SS laid out pin over bridge 5" pin to PAP CG in mid grip 75 deg.  It's a weaker drilling than many would not put on this ball.  But, what has surprised me last two times out is the nice reaction I am getting out of this ball.

3rd game on a blended house shot synthetics....I get inside of 3rd arrow with my Pearl and I'll start leaving ringing 10's.  Sliding 30 and 16-17 arrows. Ping, ping, ping.....so I switch to my SS thinking I'll start in the same place that I was slide 30-31 17 at arrows....first shot almost pocket 2-4-5.  Other lane same place bucket...so now I'm thinking geez just like the old days lil carrydown move right.  Hmmmm, I haven't done that in years.  But I move back right slide 26 and 13 at arrows...thinking now I'll get over reaction and go thru the face.....NOPE rolls nicely thru the heads in toast that guys with Special Agents and other sheen type equipment have burnt the bee-jesus out of....the SS rolls right thru that burnt track area hits break point and BOOM, BOOM, BOOM last 6 on Wed. and last 7 on Mon.  I never thought I'd be able to move back into the burnt track when everybody elses balls are going left and I can float the SS thru that area and has a very hard roll into the 1-3 not weak nor squirts on carry down.  Beautiful situation to have that I haven't had with a ball.  Move back in the dirt...who would have thunk.

The SS surprises me more and more....using the Pearl and SS mostly....Solid has not seen much use on medium-heavy to break down.  See charlest post.

Ditto - I bowl at a house that has 30 year old wood lanes, and they don't usually oil the outsides very heavily.  We were running into a problem with the last game just being way to dry.  I usually use Storm equipment and with the low RG and the High friction, that did not work so well.  I then ordered an SS with the 3-4in Pin and CG stacked straight up the middle of my grip, with the pin over the bridge.  Drill with about .5oz finger weight.  Much to my surprise I found exactly what scotts33 found as well.  I was able to play an area that was usually unplayable.  This ball flew through the burnt part of the lanes and smashed and threw pins all over the place.  I have found that you need a little tilt with this pattern, if not, you leave a few 10pins.  Add a little tilt, and it was phenominal.  All I could say is wow...and the first week I through it in league ,it helped me win some money in survival, cause not to many people had a great shot for the last game.  However, catching on quick, I just drilled up 4 more of those for my friends in the same league.

This is a must buy...

Darin,

Never thought I could move back into the dirt.  That's a move I never make because of over reaction and energy retension. I was apprehensive to move back to the right....basically 5 boards on the approach and 5 on the heads an down the lane.  Any other ball would have been thru the face.  

jablosa is correct need a lil more tilt but I've never had problems with getting tilt....sometimes wish I had less.

Used mine on some burnt lanes y/day, It could get through the heads from real deep but here when they're dry here any reactive will go at the arrows right of 20(even my Desert Heat)

 Today i bowled on the leftovers of the oil i put down after my practice y/day. Backends hadn't been washed for a few days and this was the 2nd time the pattern had been run over previous leftovers. Even on these not wide open backs the SS rolled up and arced to the hole and still had plenty of hit!!.

It's stronger than the Desert Heat with a very different roll pattern to most lighter oil equipment. On Sunday im gonna see what this does on fresh backs. I got it with the pin next to my ring finger, a stronger(earlier reacting anyway, but smoother on the back) drill than id normally use, i like the roll though so its staying like that.

Scott,
I went back and polished mine up to use more so on burnt lanes.  I had taken the cover down to use more for when the lanes have carrydown (was down to the ss and the solid ogre).  Ball is smooth through the heads and great movement on backend, not jumpy at all which is why we agree it can be played in the dirt.  I personally don't think this is skid/snap as we all invision a skid/snap.  I polished mine back up and use it for when the lanes do get fried more without fear of the over reaction.  I have an original inferno sitting on the workbench for the carrydown slot.

Agreed Darin...it's more versatile than the Greenie and very nice reaction kind of a shined up <1500 polished> Violet Gargoyle reaction on the back end.
