Good Scores???
« on: September 15, 2008, 12:41:51 AM »
Who's been rollin' some good scores with Visionary equipment so far this new fall season?

I haven't put together a great set yet but like what I see with the Blurple and Solid Gladiator.  269 so far.

What ya got to report????  Like to hear how others are doing.  Where from?  Lane conditon?  League or tourney?

Now's the time to crow about your bowling prowess.

Darin,

I don't think I'd be scared to try a New Breed Pearl at Village.  3-4 more boards hook Jason says.

Village has been pretty dry on the high side of the house.  The Up-Rising just rips left the last couple of feet.  I really like the look of the GP but maybe a new breed drilled weak.  I want to avoid the drastic jump off the dry.

Maybe the Glad. Pearl then as it's smoother off the break point.  I know my Glad. Solid is smooth like a Char Ex was smooth.  I'd think the New Breed Pearl would be more like your old Crimson Ex a more pronounced move off the spot.

I had front 10 and left a 9pin for 289 with a Gladiator Solid.

Looks like I'm in a good groove.  Had a real good look the 2nd game tonight in leagues with my Gladiator Pearl.  Wound up with a 299.  The 6-pin came off the wall and slapped the 10, sliding it in between the 8 and 9 spots on the lane.  The lane machine thought it was a strike, and after everyone got done with their yelling/condolences/laughing, I had to go and change my score from a 300 to the 299.

It's my first 299, so I'll take it.  The ball was dead flush and it was kind of a freak thing to happen, especially on the last ball.

Hi! Shot 289/710 & 289/741 with the Gladiator Solid. Both 289's left the dreaded 10 pin on the 11th ball.

Another good night.  279-757 With the Gladiator Pearl again.  Left the 2 pin was my fault.  Didn't get it out far enough n the 3rd frame and it skated on the oil and never got to the dry outside and came up way light.  The rest were right in there.

I shared this sentiment before as well.....comparing the Hammer Blade line with the Ogre lineup.  I thought when Ebonite bought Hammer, the Blade line was what really gave them something for most bowlers to go with allowing for max performance for the best price.

The Ogre line is the new king for that.....hands down!!

Who is gonna shoot some big numbers with a NEW BREED pearl or solid?????

Well Scott, not the greatest set as it should have been higher, but at least I got the all important first game with it.

300-201-246 last night with the New Breed Pearl.

I've actually noticed that something was off with me lately....shooting has not been consistent.  Shot 7 games on Saturday and am noticing that I am not playing that 3rd line consistently with the slight swing/big belly hook as was evidence by leaves and scores.  Moved right and played the real tight bellyhook and the scores were there.

Decided to try the NB Pearl first out as it's been a while since I did and I had 2 looks....and decided to go with the basic down and in shot.  Worked real nice and got a little confidence back.  Just what I needed.

Nice to hear Gary and nice rolling!!!!  I was waiting to hear from one of us to hit an honor score.

BTW.....I went back to my all Visionary line-up.  Ogre Particle, Solid  Glad, Ogre Pearl, SS Ogre and Glowing Amulet. I'll add one maybe both of the New Breed's this year.

How are your NB's laid out?  I like Stephen Hahn's NB Solid layout and thinking of trying something like that with the drilling angles near the same for heavier.
