Granite Gargoyle VS Purple Ice Executioner
« on: October 06, 2010, 06:11:24 AM »
Hello There,

I just had my granite Gargoyle delievered today. I had always thought about maybe getting one, but never did. Since one recently came up on ebay with specs I wanted----5 " pin & low top weight -- 1.97 o.z. , I went for it. I am pretty certain I am  going to have it drilled like my purple ice #1 which also came with a 5" pin. That ball is drill with the pin 2 inches above my middle finger and is my favorite ball of all time. My purple is at box finish 600, but the polish I currently have on it is tracks delayed reaction, and I like the ball like that.

currently I start out the night with my lanemasters world class which I picked up used just before the season starts, it's at 1,000 grit no polish( unfortunately the lanes aren't quite oily enough for my beloved midnight scorcher), and move down to the purple ice & then either purple ice #2 --which is drilled like a righty would drill one(I'm lefty) which really helps keep the ball from jumping when #1 gets too jumpy , or my track flare which is highly polished & the surface is really smooth, white trizact pad 6,000 - 8,000 grit approx.

I am wondering where will the Granite fit in relation to my purple ice & my world class. From reading some old reviews and old posts, I can't really tell if the granite, in general terms, will be above the purple ice or below it, or exactly where it will fit. Should I start off at the box finish of 320 dull
and adjust it from there? or where would be a good place to start in relation to what I am currently using?

Any input would be appreciated.

Brad
