High Roller Rumors
« on: November 25, 2009, 10:30:11 PM »
Heard a rumor that Visionary is back at it doing some damage in the High Rollers again this year.

If you go here, http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=221642&ForumID=15&CategoryID=2 , this was from last year.....well it appears as though VBPs own Willie Wells has gone out and won the over 60 event this year.

I believe he was throwing the New Breed Particle Pearl, but will wait for Jason to comment on further.

Congrats Willie!!  Well deserved.......and another great showing for VBP!!

Hey Gary,

Not just a rumor.  Willie did win the "60 Classic" High Roller for 10k.  He was using the New Breed Particle Pearl with a RICO layout for most of the tournament, but also used one with an arc layout I believe.

It was a pretty wild tournament in that he was almost knocked out of the first round when he beat Jocko Mangin by 1 pin (216-215).  After that, he put on a show and won his matches by 75, 63, 46, 26, and 54 pins respectively.  He averaged almost 240 for that tournament.

It's also good to note that Lonnie Sharkey won the "50" tune up with the Frankie May Gryphon, and took 4th in the "50 Classic" High Roller. I also just found out that he won the BTM tournament at nationals with the Frankie May Signature Gryphon as well.

Like I said....a big congrats to Willie for what he did.

For those that don't know Willie, he's a great guy.  He's got that zest in him for what he does.....and being the ball rep for VBP....I think he does a great job.

He's in my area often and stops over and we talk whenever possible.  Great guy!!  If you get the chance to meet him....please do introduce yourself!!

Again....congrats to Willie and to Loniie to jobs well done!!
