I Win!
« on: February 09, 2010, 11:26:27 AM »
I won the 250 person milestone giveaway for the Visionary Facebook page.  I am going with the New Breed Particle Pearl.  Thanks Jason, Betsy, and Visionary Bowling Products for your excellent products and customer service.  If you can, join this group on Facebook to get the name out there.  Social media and word of mouth marketing are the best source for people to know the Visionary name.

Now I need some drilling advice.  I am not as technical as most of you, but I have some general stats and a basic video of my shot.  Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Congrats on the giveaway.  I would do a 4.5 pin to PAP, pin above fingers, cg at 45 degrees, and a weight hole if needed.  Good luck with the new ball.

Gratz Andrew  I hear you're a fellow Chicagoan!  How are you enjoying the snow?  I love my Particle Pearl it's a fantastic ball.

How do you want it to perform versus your current gear? And how do you have that laid out?

Congratulations on winning! You picked a great ball. Try it oob before doing any tweaks to the coverstock. Very forgiving ball. I have mine drilled with pin above and to the right of ring finger. Cg in middle of grip. Goes long with a nice smooth move to the pocket playing up the track.

Thank you thank you.

lmfcoa/Steven:
For the Ogre Solid I have a 4X3 weight hole below midline, Violet 4.5X3, and 5X3 for my B/G (all pins just below bridge).  I'd like the Particle Pearl to handle more oil because I bowl on a fresh med-med heavy shot.  I track 2.5-3 inches from my my thumb so I'm somewhat of a low tracker.  Should I be hesitant to put pin over if I want to handle more oil?  I'm always hesitant going with pin over because I had a G-3 with pin above ring that was uncontrollable for me (though the cg was toward the palm).  Could Pin over work for my need for a heavier shot.  I'm currently having to play outside 10 with the Ogre Solid, which is outside my comfort zone.

lfmcoa, you bowl in the area?

Thanks

Woz,

I'm out in the Cary area, but bowl all over all over (or get all over anyways lol).  I'm only doing one league at the moment in Vernon Hills, but earlier this year I was also bowling in Round Lake.  Usually when I'm practicing though I'm either in Lake Zurich or Algonquin (I coach the Saturday youth league there).  And finally I'm always hanging around Tim's Pro Shop in Crystal Lake.

Where do you bowl out of?

The Particle Pearl really is a great ball and you'll love it.  Lately I haven't seen enough oil to use it and have been throwing mostly the NB Pearl or the Ogre Urethane.  Yesterday I was practicing in Vernon Hills though right after oiled and the ball was money.

Stupid 10-pin LOL!

I bowl out in West Chicago.
Would the Ogre Solid or NBPP have oil handling capabilities?
