Boy did I need this ball tonight.  255 start didn't have a good look at the 1-3 again.  Tried different hand positions, etc. with OP.  Major carry down.  Nothing to slam into the 1-3 from the inside.....tried OU outside but didn't get far enough right with feet and line to carry.  Did I say it's getting colder?

I think I could have used this ball last night too Scott, lanes had less head oil than usual but the hold inside was a little longer as well.  In order to get any type of decent reaction you had to play a fine line with the high friction outside.

My Orange Warlock and Gladiator pearl were both spinning their wheels leaving me wash outs and flat pocket 8-10 splits.

Can't wait to get my hands on this piece.

Jason,

Thanks for the update on the NBPP, my order will be in next week. This ball looks great and I have to agree with an earlier post it has a sour apple appeal. It will be a nice compliment to my NB Solid (Peppermint). Does this ball have length equal to the NB Pearl? Also how aggressive is the ball with the particle load added? Lastly thanks for making a great product.

If you are speaking of the CENTAUR-AMB Particle that would be an impossibility to use that core as it's over the differential limits imposed by the USBC.

Hi Midnighter,

In terms of length and backend strength, in box condition this ball falls between the Solid and the pearl.  Now, the unique thing about this ball, is it can also give you the look of a solid particle if you bring it down to 1,000 or below.  When polished, it almost acts as if there is no particle in the ball at all.

One of the best things about this ball is that you can change the surface back and forth without having to worry about damaging the coverstock.  So, if your going to bowl a tournament that you know is going to have a longer pattern, there is no problem bringing it down to 600, and then the following day bringing it back up to 2,000 for different tournament or league.  This is a very durable coverstock, and the particles will not breakdown or smooth out like other particle balls.

Jason,

Are the particles used in this ball similar to the ones in the Ogre Particle?  In other words, will we feel the fuzzy beard effect?

If I recall correctly, Visionary was told they could no longer produce those balls after a certain date.

Jason,

Thanks for the reply to my questions on this ball. I look forward to adding it to my arsenal of Visionary balls. This addition will fill my bag with all VBP balls for league nights.

No.  Gary is correct they can not produce them anymore nor can any manufacturer produce a ball and get it approved with a differential radius of gyration of over .060.

MI 2 AZ,

This ball does have the same particles as the Ogre, although a lighter load.  You will likely feel the particles get fuzzy, although with the lighter load, you won't really even notice them out of the box.

abrown,

They are correct.  The USBC grandfathered the exact balls that we had in production at the time.  They also set a time frame in which we had to stop production.  Now, any balls that we produced prior to that date can and are still being sold, but when inventory runs out all the balls that had the AMB core are done.  As far as use goes, anyone who has one or wants to get one can feel comfortable in knowing that you should be able to use these balls forever, because they were grandfathered in.
