Title: Immortal legal?
Post by: Leonidas on April 22, 2007, 10:45:40 AM
Simple question, if the Immortals will no longer pass the usbc is it legal to use them next season?

The differential of the Immortal core is not technically legal right now.  Obviously, the numbers of the Immortal are much higher than that allowed by the USBC.  However, since they were grandfathered in prior to the rule change, they are, in fact, legal to use in all USBC competition.  I don't see any reason this would change for next season.

The Immortal Solid is a great ball.  I've had one for 2 or 3 months now and have thrown more games than I can count with it and let me tell you it is one hard hitting ball!  I've hard trouble lately finding enough oil to use it on my preferred line but it is forgiving enough that I can move deep inside and take a different angle and it will still carry when I hit the pocket.  Good luck with your new toy

Hi Leonidas,

The Immortals are completely legal to use in all USBC sanctioned events.  revTrex was correct, in that if we tried to submit a ball like the Immortals for approval now, they would be rejected by the USBC.  However, since these balls were submitted prior to the rule change, it was grandfathered in, and can be used in anything that is not a PBA governed event.

Great news, i like the idea of a strong core in a easy adjustable coverstock. Im sure it will fit above my BW. Just have to wait 6 weeks A till my new toy arrives in Germany.

Thank you all.
