Immortal Solid
« on: November 10, 2007, 12:28:49 PM »
So I tried selling my IS after being unhappy with it and then Krumpy contacted me but did not like the drill.  So I complained to my driller that this ball was doing nothing for me and he took it and redrilled it free of charge (very nice).  Anyway here are the pics of the original drill and the redrill.  I am very happy with the ball now.  Not being super knowledgeable about drilling why is it other then it being pin down now that the ball starts up much earlier and hits like a tank?  What is this drilling and if I bought an SS Ogre should I set it up the same?  Thanks for all the input.

What is your PAP?  If you have some or alot of axis tilt, having the pin that far up is going to cause the ball to go really long down the lane.  IF your PAP is more in the 5 1/2 range, the pin being that far up will still cause the ball to go long down the lane, but the ball should get around the corner rather well.  Also....what type of lane condition are you typically using it on?

I too had a problem simular to yours. with the cg kicked out that far you will make the ball use all its energy up on the  front part of the lane. I had talked to Jason @ Visionary and affter i redrilled mine nad it made a huge difference. I killed the ball on my first drill and brought it back from the dead with the new one.
Basically the ball flares so much with the cg kicked out it will flare out too early and roll flat on the back with little on no movement. after bringing the cg back to the center of the grip i get good length with a strong reaction.

Floater has some You Tube footage in his profile to get a little more feedback on his game.

I do not know my PAP but could try and take a guess tonight.  As for lane conditions I bowl in two houses at present one with medium oil that dries up fast and one that lays down medium oil that seems to stay the same all night.  I use the IS in the second house for all 3 games with 1-1 moves (feet and eyes) all night to the left.

The video in my profile is the IS with the old drilling, it previously would not hook more then the Radical Inferno (vids taken same day).

Thanks for the feedback guys.
